The sexual revolution happened. Men then had to learn how to bake, ourselves.

There's always time in the day for a few biscuits or at least ONE cake.

This story has nothing on a couple of Archie bits from the '60s/early '70s.

One shows Jughead outside a classroom with a sign posted for a test. He's selling tranquilizers, clearly advertised as such.

In the other, Betty can't seem to get anyone interested in what she's doing (gee, an Archie that repeats an idea -- how unusual). At the end she sees Veronica sleeping from her tranqs and pops a couple herself, falling into dreamland.

Has the cover already been posted, of Archie rescuing Veronica on a beach, and saying he had to 'beat off three other guys' to do so?

That or he's already had a go at her eye-sockets. I wouldn't put it past him, or any Italian plumber.

But what of Ultimate Jughead? What will become of his crown and his long nose...?

Will Ultimate Moose still be allowed to begin sentences with "duh?"

Will we see a crossover series featuring Ultimate Archie vs. Archie Zombies?

Let me rephrase that last one....

MAY WE PLEASE see a crossover series featuring Ultimate Archie vs. Archie Zombies?

Only if it features The Punisher.

I have a box of Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie comics from way back. I just checked online - they are worth a pretty penny right now! Sweet!

Good to see some interest in the Archie comics!

I don't like the new look either. I'm hard core Archie fan from way back - he needs to look the same!

According to Comics Continuum,

Archie Comics on Monday announced that, through a poll, readers have named its new anthology to replace Archie & Friends.

With 14,629 votces [sic] cast through Archie's website, Archie All-Stars was the winner among 10 proposed titles with 51 percent.

Archie All-Stars will debut in the second quarter of 2008.

For complete poll results, click on the thumbnail to the right.

I think the biggest news here is that Archie has more than 10,000 current readers (or, I suppose, one lonely guy with way too much time on his Archie-lovin' hands).

Oh come on now, putting it like that. It's not a rag, just an observation in a very neutral manner.

Hi, this is bamf's mother. My young bamf had stacks of Archie comics in his room. My son would always bother me to buy a Annual Digest when he spotted it at the top of the little rack in the grocery store check out line. One late night I was up from my bed, checking on the house when I saw bamf's light on in his room.

I creeped up slowly, not sure what I was going to come across. Will it be time for "the talk" I wondered? Better get his dad up. No...that seemed like a bad idea, so I continued forward towards the light shooting out of his room, and what I saw shocked me.

Bamf was on the floor with Archie books all around him. He had something in his land, long and slender. Yes you guessed it, colored pencils. Apparently there were these sections in the books where readers were encouraged to submit their own ideas for clothes in the Archie world. Bamf was sitting on the floor over a tablet of paper drawing skirts and tops for Betty, more then Veronica. He has this thing for blondes as I am sure he has told you. Anyways, there my young son was, drawing clothes for imaginary characters, none of them male. As cute as it was, I was slightly concerned. I told him it was lights out time, put your pencils away. I returned to bed and shook his father awake.

"wha, huh?! Is the house on fire?" he asked in half asleep confusion.

I replied, "No, but tomorrow you are taking your son hunting."

Mooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!! You promised you would never tell!

He certainly seems to have gone emo hipster douchebag in that Riverdale series.
