But I will be getting Bad Planet and X-Factor.

I am goinig on monday to get the first issue of the new Dan Slott Thing comic Burl recommened, I have ordered the rest. Have you read the second issue yet Burl? Is it as good?

How are you finding the U.K. Colin? Found all your comic needs?

My work schedule means I don't get my comics until Saturday. I've got X-Factor on hold. What else is out this week? I'll report tomorrow.

My brain hurts. I've written 10 pages on Wally West and haven't passed #100. I've got four Geoff Johns TPs on loan to catch up with his stuff.

I just picked up Fell #3. So far, it's a great episodic detective series for under $2 an issue (ok, it's $1.99). The art's quite nice, leaning more to the European styles, and it's written by Warren Ellis.

In general, I'm really digging these sorts of comics, where you buy an issue and you have a self-contained story. The Goon is a good example of this, and is a series that I quite enjoy.

That recent issue (#82 I believe) of the Hulk that was written by Peter David and illustrated by Jae Lee is a beautiful example of what one can do in terms of telling a complete and affecting story in 22 pages.

Is anybody getting Marvel Zombies?

I just look at the previews, which give spoilers everytime.
I thought this was a great idea, then stupid, then great again.

I just saw SPOILER HEAVY previews of issue 2 or 3. gross.

Anybody else like this?

As a Warren Ellis fan, I was very disappointed in Nextwave. He does not do comedy well when it's the core of a story. I'm not giving this the second-issue chance I frequently do with a new title.

I've read the first issue, and I liked it. It's fun to see all your favorite Marvel heroes as evil flesh-munching zombies and an uninfected Magneto as the protagonist. And it's definitely got the "ick" factor, especially where
[SPOILERS]the heroes hunt down and rip apart Magneto, with Hulk downing one of Mag's legs whole only to revert back to Banner and have the undigested leg rip open his torso.[/SPOILERS]

Robert Kirman is a creatively disgusting genius (SPOILERISH):

If you like zombies and aren't squeamish (I kinda have an issue with the T+ rating, given the graphic ripping-apart and consumption of human flesh), I'd recommend it.

I'm loving the Marvel Zombies mini. Its got a few twists on the normal zombie mythos that allow for the actual characters to show through their zombified state. In this story, the zombies regain their human mind for a while after feeding.

The story doesn't feel like it's written for trade, so each issue is packed with action and very interesting gore. Seriously, check it out. And if you're still not interested, I'll leave you with three (hopefully) enticing spoilers.

*****SPOILER*****

1) A non-zombified Magneto wielding Cap's shield against an army of undead heroes.

2) Undead Thor eating someone's leg out of Undead Bruce Banner's ruptured stomach.

3) Silver Surfer. Feeding Frenzy. Galactus.

Buy this comic.

You're really mean today, Adam.

It's tough to be witty when you're doped to the gills on psychiatric medications. Daily:

-300mg of Lamictal, an anticonvulsant also used as a mood stabilizer
-.75mg (it's potent) of Klonopin, an anticonvulsant, anti-mania, anti-anxiety drug. It's habit-forming.
-1500mg of Lithium carbonate, a mood stabilizer. My prescribed level is close to toxic, but that's the way it is with lots of bipolar people.
-600mg of Seroquel, an anti-psychotic that, among other things, helps me get to sleep at night.
-I'm also on Synthroid to regulate my thyroid function, because the Lithium throws it out of balance.

Isn't it fun to have a biologically based mental illness? My life was even more out of control before I was treated, but I was a lot wittier and productive. One of my best moments, which came off the top of my head: I don't really get depressed at Christmas. I just suffer from noel cowardice.

I'm sorry, Adam. I've always had trouble with sensitivity (which has too many "i"s separated by consonants), and it's especially difficult in type, even moreso in this sort of board situation, where there is generally less context for a phrase or sentence. Thanks for continuing to put up with me.

Pacino, the first year or so was much better. I'm feeling let down with the recent stories, but Willingham started strongly. Read the TPB and see what you think.
