Oh, okay, NOW it's showing up. What do you think of it?

Nice. Very nice. And I hope you stick around. I've been on a few comic message boards in my time, and I think you'll like the atmosphere of this place if you give it a shot.

I love AICN, but the TB is full of profoundly ALF individuals (no offense). And my conspiracy theories and political views tend to rub people the wrong way. ;)

HAHAHA. Actually if you're a conspiracy buff, you're going to fit right in here. Paranoia is the oxygen of the Zone

One of the ways we try to keep from people getting rubbed the wrong way is to do most of our political talk in the Evil Fucking Bastard room. It's kind of our little fire wall for flame wars. ;)

Many of us who came over early during the beta-testing phase now stay here most of the time, just because the TBs are so full of space-wasters. I hope you enjoy the place.

Here's one of my favorite conspiracy theories (sorry if I offend someone): On 9/11, what REALLY hit the Pentagon was a missile or a jet fighter (or simply a small plane), the debris field found in Pennsylvania was PLANTED, and the Twin Towers were brought down by pre-set explosives (controlled demolition). What REALLY flew into the WTC were holographic projections of planes, the REAL planes (all FOUR of them) and their passengers weren't destroyed on that day, they were brought to a secret location where God knows what actually happened to them. In my opinion, 9/11 was the modern equivalent of the burning of the Reichstag, the first step in the establishment of a totalitarian New World Order. Any thoughts? ;)

Please take it to the Evil Fucking Bastard Room. We avoid talking politics, even conspiracy-based weird politics, in the main rooms. The threads get too choked with fights and trolling otherwise

I think most of us have heard the largest part of that theory before, barring the holographic projections bit.

My first thought is that this is probably the wrong thread for that. For better or worse, people are allowed to start threads in this place. As off-topic and controversial a statement as that is, a large and heated discussion could potentially follow in its wake. I suggest taking it to the Evil Fucking Bastard Room and starting your own thread.

Okay, sorry, but you have to admit that it sometimes seems as if Mark Millar's imagination isn't that far off from what could very well be reality...

That the wildest 9/11 conspiracy theories sound like stuff straight out of the Ultimates.

Anyway, back on topic: Is the main bad guy Ultimate Wonder-Man?

Back on topic, VERY DOUBTFUL that's Wonder Man, SumofGod...

But I love the screen name and the sig, too. Welcome!

Me, I'm not interested in conspiracy theories. I'm interested in the facts behind conspiracies.

I doubt that that's Ulty Wonder Man. Could be the Ult version of Crimson Dynamo or another of the Soviet Super Soldiers since that seems to be the core of the group.

Since it's an international force, could Sabra be in there? Wasn't sure if Israel was one of the countries that was all ticked of about the Ultimates.

Has Ish 10 come out yet? Has anyone seen it? Haven't been to the comics shop in a few weeks so not sure where we are on the release schedule. If anyone's seen it please post some updates if any of those questions have been answered.

Thanks.

And as far as conspiracy theories go, that's an interesting one. Start it up in the Evil Bastards thread and see who responds.

I thought Dynamo was the one in the sky. The one who 'stole the lightning'...

Guys, Crimson Dynamo is the one in the Iron Man-like armor. The crimson colored armor. Note that Loki adresses him as "Dynamo" near the end of the issue.

I'm still betting on Red Guardian as leader of the Anti-Ultimates. Pisser that issue 10 is delayed again, though.

The guy who "stole the lightning" is probably Vanguard...he's a Russian villain who carried around a hammer and sickle...

He also had a sister named Darkstar...she might be one o' the women?

Don't be surprised if that dude in the green (besides Abomination, duh) turns out to be Radioactive Man -- Dr. Chen Lu, one of the "Chinese agents" to whom Dynamo refers(?).

Those covers are excellent. Too bad we'll have to wait a few months to see what's in them.

I thought the sketches looked pretty cool. Who is the woman being escorted down the hall? Is it Janet Pym? The blurbs regarding this book referenced the identity of the traitor in the descrip of the march issue. Could Wasp be the second one? I know they referenced a "Pym" in number 9 but I was wondering if anyone else thought Hank could just be a red herring.

Radioactive Man is right besides Evil Wonder Man (the dude with the big "W" on his chest and the ionic energy twin-blade lightsaber).

I don't know where you're getting this artwork, SumOfGod, but it's awesome...thanks for sharing...

You're really stickin' with your guns on the Wonder Man thing, huh? I guess it's not entirely out of the question. Wonder Man did start off as a villain, after all. However, Simon "Wonder Man" Williams was never a foreigner in the Mainstream Marvel Universe...and why would a Russian (or Chinese, etc.) person wear an English language "W" to stand for "Wonder?" It doesn't make sense.

I just don't think that it's a clone of Red Guardian, as some people (including Wikipedia) seem to think.

I'll take this opportunity, by the way, to both thank AND curse everyone who recommended I pick up some of the Ultimate books back in December. Here I am, two months later, fiending for the next issue of THE ULTIMATES, and it's delayed... and to think, at the beginning of December, I was none the wiser.

Oy gevalt, what a world.
The whole world's wild at heart and weird on top.

Don't worry, Ultimates 2 issue 10 is coming out in March (probably) and this whole storyline will end with issue 12 in September (maybe). ;)

I think I'm gonna drop this title after the end of volume 2. Millar and Hitch are leaving, so the Ultimates won't really be the Ultimates anymore. Just hope I can get issue 12 before I f***ing DIE.

Ultimates is already late as it is, Millar and Hitch are worth waiting for, but now volume 3 will feature PG-13 storytelling, the Ultimates being portrayed more like the 616 Avengers and cartoonish artwork. No thank you.
