Yeah, well, I want to see some catfight action before I'm sure. Starfire alone would make pretty short work of Magma, Rogue and Storm (sorry, if we're talking power levels, they're all pretty much charcoal briquettes.) We put Lady Shiva, Jade, and Indigo on that team and I think that takes care of ninja girl and Wolvie's favorite frail.

^^Awesome.

I keep wanting to put Issue 1 of CW in it's wrapper for good (I wrap all my comics - even my mom's shitty Archies), but I keep re-reading it.

Best cross-over comic ever. And there isn't a lot of X-Men in this one, either, which is good, I'm tired of hearing about the X-Men all the time.

Anyone else find it ironic that Captain America, formerly "The World's Most Patriotic Superhero", is now being labeled as a terrorist? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that an oxymoron? Patriotic terrorist?

This quote is cliche...but it still applies "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter"

Patriotic terrorist is no an oxymoron at all.

^I meant patriotic the way America (and, therefore, the Captain America cartoon the quote is from) thinks of patriotic, that meaning "Good American, Proud American, Etc." if anything.

However, in the general sense of the term "patriotic", then no, it's not an oxymoron at all.

Also - if anyone's wondering about the Civil War signatures seen in this thread, the idea which I blatantly stole, the font is "Copperplate Gothic Bold", size 17. It can be easily done in Photoshop Elements within under 5 minutes.

It's not what Marvel's using though. Copperplate has a serif and whatever they're using doesn't.

Here's a visual idea of the difference. http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/s/serif.html

I use Arial 21, with kerning and some other thing played with.. It gets it damn close with a little tweaking.

^If it's one thing I'm horrible at, it's tweaking text, so Copperplate I guess is the n3wb way out.

Actually it's pretty good. I had to look real close to see the difference.

I don't think anyone has got it perfect yet. And btw, I like your point on Captain America

^Thanks.

On the font issue - See, if there were a way to replicate fonts, which would be awesome, this sort of thing would be easier, and you wouldn't have to pay 35 bucks to use the iPod font.

(Myriad Web Pro Semibold, which should be preinstalled on all Macs, including the MacBook I'm buying this summer - MAKE IT HAPPEN, JOBS)

I finally read #1 and I understand why people are reacting so strongly. Part of me doubts Tony would react in this way, even if he has had strong connections with the government since before he was Iron Man. Especially given Tony's vigilantism during the "Iron Wars," when he attacked the U.S. government for stealing his tech. So are all of the New Warriors dead now?

And I'm with The King.

Just wondering:

Can someone make a civil war banner with Jack Bauer on it saying: "I'm With the Punky Power".

Maybe using this pic:

Or maybe this one:

AND:

I found one right up CptKirk2pay's alley:

Righteous!

EDIT: Nevermind I did it myself.

It's amazing what's out there on the net, justing waiting to be appropriated. Yes, appropriated in the name of humor. Wish I could make a banner. I'd put on some bizarre character like the Animal-Vegetable-Mineral Man (who fought the Doom Patrol).

Question: In Photoshop, I am trying to type in text in the text box. But for some reason, I get a red hue popping up in the picture and my text ends up becoming some stupid white and black flashing thing. How do I get that font off the text option? Or am I doomed because the pic is in a non-layer friendly format?

This is what I got so far:

Image

I want to put in the text box: "I'm With the Grav-i-tas." (Without the damn hyphens. God damn word substitution.)

i tried it - i also got the flashing black n' white lettering - but when i clicked on "save for web" (in photoshop elements) it previewed as normal...

That's awesome.

So I should save it for web and the flashing will stop?

Because I don't want the lettering to overlap the picture.

Awesome work, man. Thanks.

EDIT: I got it!! Nice. Here it is for those who want to show THEIR REAL ALLEGIANCE!!!!

Even though Tom Brevoort says there's no mastermind behind the war, I believe that someone has been manipulating recent Marvel history (i.e. Secret War, Disassembled, House of M) so that the end result of these events would be the war itself, and the masterminds would just sit back and watch the show.

I refer to this as my "anti-Illuminati" theory.

I think Rich Johnston said something about the Hate Monger being involved. (For those who don't know, the Hate Monger is a clone of Adolf Hitler who's had some run-ins with the Fantastic Four) And then you have that little nugget from Millar's Spider-Man run that corporations are funding supervillains to keep heroes from going after the real bad guys. I can see them going that route for the big picture, but I tend to believe them when they say that there's no mustache twirlers behind the SRA.
