It has to be the coolest looking comic I've heard of in a while. I'm sold.

The art is great, it reminds me of old EC comics, and that is perfect for Lovecraft.

I agree.

Yo, if you dig the Lovecraft and you own a PS2, you gotta check out Resident Evil 4; they've ditched the evil corporation narrative and substituted a Cthulian cult kind of narrative. and the new and improve zombies are fortified with what reminded me very much of Cthulu power -- ancient insects dredged from the deep within the earths core. its great!

Anyone else picked this up yet?

The first issue is pretty good, pulpy in format with some great text and dialogue. ALL the art is very nice indeed, with some great variations in style from story to story.

The stories themselves seem very Chtulu moralistic if that makes sense. I am not that well versed in Lovecraftian lore, so a view from some of you who are would be appreciated.

Dude, what about the Call of Cthulu game that came out on Xbox a few months ago? It's a 1st person adventure game that ties in a bunch of different lovecraft tales into a rather cohesive story that's actually pretty fucking creepy. And it's based on the Cthulu RPG world, so while trying to stay alive, you're also trying to stay sane long enough to figure out what's going on. Not a bad game at all.

I love Lovecraft but I loathe those who play in his "mythos" (Dereleth I am looking at you) since 99% of the time they make something like the Dunwich Horror which was Lovecraft's "campy"/self parody story.

The best short story in the book is the one about the father and the play. Very in synch.

Squashua, only a part time @$$hole?

That won't cut it in The Zone.

Gotta bump up your game to Full, my man.

Just trying to help....

I've been getting more & more excited about this - Lovecraft just does not get done well that often. This looks like it WILL be done well.
