I'm loving this so far.

Batman is dirty and ratlike and wears gym shorts. He's ugly as hell and wears a real belt and boots with laces. The colors are puky and he spends the entire ish bleeding and wheezing.

I just hope they don't screw it up.

I thought it was great, the colors, the narrative, the extreme militaristic aspect of the GCPD and the newshouts at the begining and end were all fantastic.

It had a definite post-cyberpunk flavor to it, kinda like transmet but with batman in it. I also liked how quiet batman was in it, no inner monologue, just his actions and grunts.

Pope is one of the most original minds in comics and I'm glad to be reading it.

This was the best batman mini-series in a long time. Its a shame it only lasted 4 issues.

Is this out in a collection yet? I'd really like to check it out.

I love Pope's work. His writing may be a tad pretentious sometimes; a little
too self-conciously hipster, but his artwork is beautiful. He truly has a
unique art style drawing from manga, european, and american style
comics...
