Who is the Daredevil impostor

Postby Azathoth on Thu May 04, 2006 6:26 pm

So far i cant come up with any intelligent guess. The only thing i've seen so far that might be an important clue is in Civil War #1 were the imposter (and it has been confirmed that it is not Matt Murdoch appearing there) is shown tossing a coin. I had hoped that someone here might know of a character that has shown this habit in the past.

Bullseye tosses little things.

Might be an allusion to Captain America.

(I'm not reading the comic or anything. Just making guesses.)

Bullseye is currently in the same prison as the real daredevil. Captain America and the fake daredevil are both shown at different locations at the same time.

I'm a bit lost.

Civil War?

J/K. I know of it, just what's going on so far? Anyone?

Thanks, Adam. Hey, take a look at the Lost Experience thread.

Spider-man has been in the same room with the fake daredevil. One possiblility i've seen but foward on other websites (i have spent a ridiculous amount of time on this question) is that the fake daredevil is Hawkeye. This makes sense it explains were Hawkeye has been since he was reincarnated. Hawkeye also has skills that would allow him to fight in the same way as Daredevil. The only problem with this theory is that in Civil War #1 the daredevil impostor is show hanging out in a room full of people who knew hawkeye.

Masks are much more effective in comic books than real life, what?

Taskmaster? Moon Knight? Batroc?

Wolverine was in the room and he has recognized other heroes while they were out of costume by their smell. As to the others you mentioned two are disabled (Moonknight= wheelchair, Batroc = French), and i guess Taskmaster is a possibility but i dont see how that could end up making sense.

No, Daredevil has been consistantly self contained. You don't need civil war to follow DD from what I've seen so far.

Okay, here's a crazy thought...

It's Tony Stark. Okay, I know, but hear me out on this one. He did it in order to infiltrate Cap's side of the Civil War. How do we know? Okay, he's the richest hero in the Marvel U, the one we associate the most with money and capitalism, and in Civil War we saw him flipping a coin, and saying "This will change forever how we do business..." Now that's a hint if I ever saw one. And if you see them together in the same room, since you never see Tony's face, it could be anyone in that Iron Man suit.

That might make sense for Civil War...but why would Tony Stark dress up like DD and then go to Hell's Kitchen and fight crime? That part doesn't really make any sense.

I'm going to go with the hawkeye on this one. I'm thinking they'll explain it out saying he smelled different after he came back to life.

BLUEBOTTLEDIDITILASH!!!

Ok, before I finish reading though, I think that's an amazing point about Stark . . . and considering his backhanded tactics in Amazing Spider-Man of late, I wouldn't be at all surprised . . . I wouldn't have thought of it on my own, but good call, man.

Well if it was Tony, he'd have to have shaved his goatee off and somepoint, and would be wearing a prosthetic...

It would be funny if there was a scene of him on tv, talking to a reporter about the SRA and while he's talking, his mustache starts gradually peeling off...

One thing to remember about this DD is that in all of the issues of DD that he has showed up...he fights just like Murdock did.

Call me crazy but I just don't think Tony Stark could fight like that. With the flipping and what not?

I'd say the best guess i have heard so far is Hawkeye. Although I hope it isn't Hawkeye. You also have to remember that there was that weird plot point where Urich meets up with that guy who has ties to Wilson Fisk in an attempt to hunt down this new DD. So does this new guy have some sort of ties to the Kingpin???

I will say that I like this mystery DD thing. It adds another layer to the whole Matt in jail thing.
