Movies about comic book collectors / collectors in general

Postby claudeismydog on Wed May 31, 2006 10:44 am

I was trying to think if there are any good movies out there about comic book collectors, or star wars colletors, or the types of guys that would go to comic-con. I definitely am also thinking about Ghost World and American Splendor, but what other movies tell the story of collectors, or typical comic book "nerds."

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Not sure if this qualifies but they show them going to conventions...

There's a movie called Comic Book Villains about two comic shop owners who are competing for a large, newly discovered stash of collector comics. It's not too horrible. Comic fans can definitely relate to it better than non-fans, I'd say.

How about Comic Book: The Movie, directed by none other than Mark Hamill?

Don't forget he stars in it too...it's beautiful, in it's own way. Hamill embraces his geek side unabashedly, and completely reminded me of my local comic shop owner.
