At least the cover art has improved, let's hope the inside art has improved as well.

Damn that's sweet. Mine should be in the mailbox....

Reading the issue now. Loving it thus far. I just stopped by to say...

John Byrne??!?!?!?!?!??! WTF? How did I miss this!?!?!?

EDIT: Loved the issue. Can't wait for the rest of the story to be filled in and of course for the main story to start back up again!

Brian Lynch is doing one hell of a job on this book. I only wish it were $2.99 like the Buffy comic. That extra dollar just irks me!

That's the difference between IDW and Dark Horse. I have to wonder why Dark Horse doesn't have Angel. It seems a natural.

Dark Horse used to, but I guess they gave it up and IDW jumped on it. IDW did the Spike series which impressed Whedon and so they got the approval for Angel S6.

I enjoy what IDW has done with Angel and the Star Trek franchise. I just wish they would keep the standard $2.99 price. Or at the most $3.50. As I said before, that really irks me.

So, Angel: After the Fall #6 ,is out. Any comments?

Personally, I thought that the story and artwork (for a change) in the Wesley portion were quite good. I am interested to see if we actually get to find out Wolfram and Hart's plan is.
Back to horrid art in the Kate portion, however it was nice to see her again. Appears she is a "rogue demon hunter" now.
Still don't get the psionic fish at all...

I liked that they brought Kate back into the mix.

I wish the art would be more consistant,
but I'm having a real good time with this ( and Buffy ) ( and Serenity: Better Days).
Tying all these disparate pieces together is going to be great. Very keen on seeing where this thing lands, in the end.

Good stuff.

I, also, enjoyed the return of Kate.

However, I actually dropped this book. I love it, but the $3.99 price tag kills me. I promised myself I wouldn't purchase any ongoing book that costs more than $2.99. I do read it in the store, which is all I really need.

Interesting turn in Angel's character.

Just got hold of the first 6 issues of this and the first 10 of Buffy too. I think I'm going to read them in one sitting tonight, it's been too long since I had adventures with these guys. Anyone got any music rec's for while reading?

Univers Zero for the Angel stuff - it helps with the feeling of disjointedness, mood and menace. Sepp turned me on to these guys, and they are DARK. Chronos String Quartet collides with Poe and Gehenna. I would imagine a lot of discordance in LA, being relocated into hell and all. No more sweet music.
Music that grows, lurks and menaces.

For Buffy I end up with The Sundays.
Seems apt - they used their cover of Wild Horses in season 3.

Personally, I am glad. The HelL.A. was just too much. It ended nicely and in a clever way. I wouldn't say this is "reset to zero", but it does get us back to Angel stories that are probably going to interest me more. Besides the HelL.A. arc introduced some cool new twists to all the characters, and hopefully the new creative team will have some fun with them.

I didn't have a pithy phrase for "it all happened but it never happened," so I settled for "reset to zero." I knew the HelLA story had to end, and perhaps ran a bit long, but I wish the conclusion had been more satisfactory to me. To have everyone except Wesley wounded emotionally but come out of the experience essentially whole physically seemed a bit much. Of course, I thought Angel's series finale should have been the end of the story, and the final, unseen battle should have killed everyone except Illyria and perhaps Angel.

Okay, my copy finally arrived, and I'm with Burl here - good ep, glad for the change.
Hoping Wes will still show in some form or another.
It's between he and Cordelia as to which Buffyverse characters had the greatest arc and change.

I love Wesley's arc. I hated Cordelia's. Carpenter just didn't seem to have the chops to make "serious" Cordy work.

That's more the actress's fault than the writers.
Cordy went from uber-spoiled suburban princess to willingly becoming part demon
and turning her back on a fabulous fate she could have had, and all for love of her friends.
Not a shabby arc.
And it leaves off the rest of the shite that the character endured after Charisma got preggers,
and Joss had to write around it.

No Oz yet. Phuk stik.

Because it wasn't playing to her strengths. Neither was the ridiculous 'Cordy as a Saint' story from S3. Charisma was great at playing sarcastic, with a heart underneath that. Writing her more than that was just bizarre.

Cos you thought you'd see her bewbs? I mean, that's plenty reason to get excited.

I liked her better when she was a smart-ass.

I miss Buffy-verse.
