Two days until the invasion!!

There's a pretty awesome, minorly spoilersih interview w/ Bendis over at Newsarama. Lots of really interesting stuff. I'm very, very excited for this one.

Over on the Jinxworld boards, they've posted the following templates for folks to play Civil War-style with their banners:

I am giving this one issue. I am so burned out by most of this event stuff that if the first issue doesn't BLOW me away I will just give it a pass.

I find Yu's art to be terribly obnoxious.

EDIT: Anyone see that viral marketing stuff Marvel has done on Myspace with the fictional characters of Kinsey and Hank?

Hank goes to the fictional college that Peter Parker went too and he has been behaving rather Skrully.

Check out CBRs Lying In the Gutters for links.

Tony Stark is a Skrull. That's why he he led the pro-registration forces and pushed through the Initiative. All the good heroes are now lined up tidily, with bases and support personnel - ready for destruction.

I, also, am sitting this one out. The old Marvel crossovers may have been silly, but at least they weren't designed to alter the entire face of Marvel-Earth (or at least Marvel-USA). In quick succession we've had Avengers Disassembled, House of M, Civil War and now Secret Invasion. It's too much, too soon.

Oh, and my copies of Civil War just went up in (Almost) Free Comics.

Tony had BETTER be a Skrull. And they better find the real Tony in suspended animation somewhere.

QUIT FUCKING AROUND WITH MY FAVORITE CHARACTER, MARVEL!!!!!

thank god for the movie...they can't kill off tony right now!!

You been reading the Iron Man series LV? He is actually portrayed quite well in there.

Its his appearances in the rest of the Marvel U that makes him seem like a cocksmith.

I really hope the new Fraction series restores Tony to his rightful place in the Marvel U (as a non-douche).

Unless he resigns as director of SHIELD and foreswears registration and the Initiative he will never find his rightful place in my eyes.

Well, two points about Iron Man:

1) There's zero chance of him being a Skrull.

2) He's my favorite character in comics right now. Not just Iron Man--this Iron Man.

I'd elaborate further, but I'm leaving for the night.

Quite a few.

The main title is 8 issues long. Plus Front Line. Plus minis for Spidey, FF, and the X-Men. Not to mention cross overs in X-Factor, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Incredible Hercules, and many many more.

Lets see.

The New Avengers fought and killed Elektra only to have her body revert back to its Skrullish form. GASP!

Spider-Woman stole the body and gave it to Tony Stark. Stark showed it to the members of the Illuminati only to have Black Bolt reveal himself to be GASP a Skrull. Skrull Bolt is killed.

The Revolutionary, one of the Philadelphia's Initiative super heroes is revealed to be a Skrull and it is also revealed that the Skrulls plan to GASP have a Skrull in every one of the 50 Superhero teams! Skrull-nitiative!

Iron Man believes Capt. Marvel to be a Skrull and those suspicions appear to be confirmed when GASP Cobalt Man is revealed to be a Skrull and he then tells Capt. Marvel that he is also a sleeper agent for the Skrulls! Trickery? Methinks it could be!

Later, Dum Dum Dugan is grilled by a woman about Nick Fury's whereabouts...he answers that he doesn't know and then GASP he is murdered and replaced with a Skrull!

It also is revealed that Ms. Marvel has GASP a Skrull double flying around!

Finally, in the latest issue of the New Avengers Echo is attacked by GASP a Skrull posing as Daredevil that also possesses the powers of GASP Cyclops and other X-Men!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That should do it. Check Wikipedia for more info.

For those interested:

IGN Has Six Reviews of SI #1!!!!

Jesse is the reviewer on that site that I have the most in common with taste wise and he gives the book an 8.4.

Don't worry about spoilers...two reviews in and I haven't seen a single inkling of a spoiler. Enjoy!

Man, I've sort of been slacking when it comes to keeping track of this stuff. I think the last Avengers issue I read was the plane crash where Spider-Woman hightails it with Skrull Elektra's corpse. How have they been since then in terms of quality?

Also, since we're catching up... what happened in the last two issues of World War Hulk?

Brian Bendis will be on G4 tomorrow at 7pm EST promoting Secret Invasion.

It all starts tomorrow, folks! Can it live up to the hype?!?!?!! I guess we will see.

Personally, I will be stopping by my LCS at around 1:30 so hopefully I will be able to post some thoughts mid-afternoon.

Brian Michael Bendis's bald ass was plotting Secret Invasion before "Avengers Disassembled" was published. Jive turkey!

(Actually, I don't like Bendis that much, but I had to say "Jive turkey!" and needed an opening.)
