Batman + Superman CONFIDENTIAL!

Postby Leckomaniac on Fri Jun 09, 2006 1:01 am

In November, DC is launching Batman Confidential and Superman Confidential. Essentially, both series aim to recount the early days of DC's most famous superheroes.

These new on-going series are meant to introduce new readers to some of the most important parts of these characters pasts. At the same time, they are hoping that the stories will stil be "fresh" enough to satisfy old readers.

Recently, the man behind Batman Confidential sat down and gave a really interesting interview.

You can read the interview here:

Batman vs. Lex Luthor and metal robots.

Count me in!

What do you folks think...is this yet another attempt by DC to capture the popularity of the Ultimates line? Could it be interesting?

I haven't really read comics in earnest for like eight years, so this is the kind of thing that could get me started again. It would provide a way back in after getting riled up by geekgasms in the Zone.

I just bought the first issues of the Ultimate Spider-man and X-Men trade paperbacks, with an eye on also getting Ultimate Fantastic Four and the Ultimates down the line. This Confidential line could be something I look into as well.

It doesn't sound much like Marvel's Ultimate line to me. Batman Confidential just sounds like Legends of the Dark Knight with a new title...and this time with a "Legends of the Man of Steel" companion book.

That said, I'm always on the hunt for a good Batman story. I hope this one is that.

I used to read the LotDK books way back when. I particularly remember liking the "Venom" storyline.

I'm just glad that there's not a new series entitled Batman and Superman Confidential debuting anytime soon.

It just sounds so....filthy...

Superman heard all those kinky stories from Robin and decided he just HAD to get in on the action!

Shhh...you're not supposed to know about it, Scribner...it's confidential!

Known only to the snooping paparazzi and readers of tabloid journalism...
