'07 secret safe so far as James Bond casting looms'
"The decision hasn't been made yet. They are casting and that takes however long it takes," was the reply from an EON spokeswoman clearly tiring of fielding the same question.

(AP Newswire, 10/11/2005, 08:34:12 GDT) "We decided to back off from our prior announcement," says an anonymous source involved in the latest Bond casting. "When we made the announcement about Hayden, we clearly underestimated the public animosity directed toward this talented young man. Also, we didn't expect the British backlash from casting a non-Brit as 007." When asked if the producers were looking to recast the part, the source insisted "definitely not. They're sticking with Hayden, they've just gone 'undercover' with the information."

I think Anakin will be awesome. I mean, have you guys heard his big heartbreaking monologue about how much he hates sand? He really makes you feel like you are sitting in sand. That the sand is all over your bum and BlueBittles, and you know its going to be a nightmare to clean up. But you are kind of paralyzed. You could hop in the shower, but then you might get all that sand down the drain!

You're left with this duality: what do I do? shake it off? or should I find some other way to deal with the problem?

And that duality paralyzes you.

i guess that's okay. at least he's a Brit. he seems more like a Bond villian than Bond, though...

He was also good in that Tom Wanks Gangsta movie too, Road to Permission.

Dino, I can't find anywhere on the net that announced Hayden Christensen as Bond man. Gimme the actual link could ya baby? Sand. When I was in Coogee I did a somersault off the wall falling down 6 feet onto the sand below. Only I landed on my back, and little did I know that only 6 inches below the sand it was hard fucking rock.

This is great fucking news, he has the cold blooded eyes of a professional killer & he's actually English, the first ever English Bond. I hope they dont dye his hair Black, but at the same time get rid of the Ginger.

Also look for excellent performances in Enduring Love & The Jacket.

No disrespect to the actors, but Daniel Craig spells Timothy Dalton to me. Dunno if this will be successful casting or not. Then again, what do we know about how the new Casino Royale Bond will supposed to be?

Can't wait to see him in Munich, Spielberg's upcoming thriller.

Crappy title though. Soooo preffered 'Vengeance'. Tells the story better too.

From the official site, and the updated AICN article.

I'm actually rooting for Craig as a choice for Bond, but this image looks really dodgey to me, his hair looks really strange, and that suit looks too just a bit too neat... I hope it all comes together for the movie.

This is a silly nitpick because I like Craig quite a bit, but he's just not nearly as handsome as Pierce Brosnan or Sean Connery. Maybe Roger Moore, but... Ah hell, I'm hoping they use him to grit things up a bit, take a page from the Bourne films.

Seriously... Bond is wearing a TUXEDO and the comment is that it looks too neat? And then his chin is too pointy or small or whatever? And then a hetero guy tells us that Craig is the ugliest Bond of them all? WTF! I am not cranky, but atleast we have a NEW Bond. And this mother fucker is probably the best actor out of the whole lot! I am stoked. You guys are the ones hatin'.

Cranky McLeftnut, I'm very much not hating. I started my post saying it's a silly nitpick and that I do like Craig quite a bit. I think he's a good choice. I'd have preferred Clive Owen, but this will do nicely.

And g@y, straight, bi, whatever, pretty is still pretty. Pierce Brosnan is prettier than Daniel Craig. Fact. Does that change Craig's worthiness to play Bond? No. Hence, silly nitpick.

burl, please don't lump all our opinions in together.

It was me who said the tuxedo looks too neat in that picture, and I stand by it.

But I have also said repeatedly that I think that Craig is the best man for the job, and that I hope they bring it all together.

I'm hopefull for this one, about as hopefull as I have ever been about a Bond movie infact, certainly since playing Goldeneye on the N64 anyway...

I think he looks awesome.

He's good looking, but isn't a "pretty boy" and he looks like he'd have a bit of a thuggish side.

sorta like Timothy Dalton, who was, IMHO, the best bond (or at least had the potential to be the best bond).

Sorta like... he's described in the books...

If he fits the image that he's described as in the books, then this very well could be the best Bond. Ian Fleming's original Bond is one of the questions I have regarding the suitability of Daniel Craig. If the suit fits, then I'm happy with him 100%.

Just hope they get a success out of him, unlike Dalton. 2nd time lucky me hopes.
