The Movie Trailers 'Я' Us Thread

All the dirt. All the top secret stuff. Anything that has to do with the process of getting us to sit and watch something projected on the big screen.

I think Kevin James is an american comedian, if you get my drift. His schtick plays to a certain american audience. Perhaps that's JLs problem.

Much like my dislike of Simon Pegg. Just don't get it.

The Unborn trailer here. This definitely looks like it will be worth checking out, really creapy trailer. Also Micheal Bay is producing this horror flick - plus Gary Oldman is a lead character; Hell yes!

Enjoy

Read the book right after I got my Yellow Lab.
Movie looks great.*

*Obviously I don't mean Oscar-caliber great, or thought-provoking great, or even "Hey, it's not by Ratner, WS Anderson, Sommers, Boll, or McG" great. But more of a "Fuck, I really love dogs" great.

YatterMan

Postby TheButcher on Sat Oct 18, 2008 1:01 pm

From io9.com the YatterMan teaser: Time Travel Superhero Comedy YatterMan from Japan's Most Psychotic Director
If you've ever had your eyeballs scooped out by director Takeshi Miike's gorefests Audition and Ichi the Killer, you might be wondering why his next project is full of cute doggy robots and silly superheroes who battle across time. The guy is nothing if not versatile, and his big-budget scifi comedy YatterMan could be this spring's coolest live-action redo of an anime since Cutie Honey. He's got a couple teasers up on the YatterMan site, one of which you can see here.

YatterMan is based on a late-1970s Japanese TV show about, well, heroes and villains who fight across time.

Nice Butcher! The Aliens look a little too much like those aliens from Galaxy Quest but still looks cute, though likely as a rental

I've got something that is not a "trailer" but I couldn't find the Saw V page! Anyway I just saw This about Saw V over on Yahoo. Its Tobin Bell (Jigsaw)'s take on the 5th installment. I've been a sort-a fan of the series though obviously disappointed at times, but it made the new movie slightly more interesting.

When the vikings attacked uk mainland, the populace all left in boats panicking. They found norway empty, so settled there. The so called english you hear now actually speak norwegian, and norwegian is actually ye olde english. Its one of the biggest cover ups in history. (either that or my heineken is kicking in)

Last Chance Harvey (starring Dustin Hoffman)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apLvO-Hxs8A

It's a chick flick for older men. What is interesting to me is that Hoffman hasn't played a romantic lead in over two decades (maybe more). He looks like he's carrying his own in this one (especially since he's been playing zany characters since Rainman) but who knows if there will be interest.

IP MAN

From twitch: Behind the Scenes Video for Martial Arts film IP MAN

Al Young wrote:The English section of the official site for Wilson Yip’s martial arts biopic Ip Man with Donnie Yen in the title role has been activated.

You’ll find details about the film, a historical background on the martial artist who mentor Bruce Lee and the art of Wing Chun and profile info on the cast & crew. There is also a behind the scenes video, some downloadable desktop wallpapers and a production blog site on the making of the film, accompany with some high-res photos.

The theatrical release date in Hong Kong is December 18th.

From The Movie Blog:
Ip Man Biopics In The Works
Who is Ip Man you say? Well this is the Kung Fu instructor of Bruce Lee and he is getting the respect he is due with a pair of biopics celebrating his life and work. We get wind of this very exciting story from the legendary caves of yahoo:

Bruce Lee is the master to many martial arts fans, but less is known about his master, Ip Man, a pioneer in the kung fu style that influenced Lee. Hong Kong On Tuesday, action stars Donnie Yen and Sammo Hung from the U.S. TV series “Martial Law” prepared to start shooting one of two planned movies about Ip. They joined Ip’s sons in paying tribute to their father at his hometown in the southern city of Foshan, a four hours northwest of Hong Kong.

Born in Foshan in 1893, Ip started training around 1903 in wing chun. He arrived in Hong Kong in the 1940s to escape the Communist takeover of the mainland. In Hong Kong, he started out teaching kung fu to restaurant workers but broadened his reach to hundreds of students, including Lee, before passing away in 1972. Lee, who died in 1973 at age 32 from swelling of the brain, studied under Ip for five years, according to his official biography on the Bruce Lee Foundation Web site.

I finally had a chance to see the trailer for "The Unborn" in front of "Role Models".

That might have been one of the freakier trailers I've seen in a long time. The movie itself looks like a mash-up of "The Exorcist" and "The Grudge" but the creepy crawling old man was scary enough to make me nearly pee my pants.

Also, yay for Gary Oldman! Movie automatically gets bonus points if he's in it.

The problem with seeing "The Unborn" trailer before "Role Models" is "The Uninvited" Trailer before "Role Models". They both look like the same movie.

Crossing Over trailer here! Harrison Ford and Ray Liotta star in this moving story that has absolutely nothing to do with crossing over in the biblical or mortal/fatal sense but rather "crossing over" the boarder into the grand USofA. This looks like serious oscar/emmy award contender material here folks! Watch and as always...

Enjoy!

On the bright side, maybe it will atleast give Lou Dobbs a mild stroke.

I'm not sure it's trying to be a gutbuster like Caddyshack was; in fact part of what I liked about the trailer was the sort of laid-back vibe I got from the whole thing. But I could be wrong.

Race to Witch Mountain trailer here! I remember this movie from my youth but its been a really long time, so much so all I really remember was a helicopter flyng upside down near the end of the movie. And um ... yep thats it. Anyway not sure Disney's choice of The Rock was the ideal casting for this movie but still looks like it may be worth checking out. Who am I kidding if a movie in anyway has something to do with aliens - hell I'm required by aicn law to see it. :-P

Enjoy

That looked shitfull.

Until the Beethoven music started, and the heros faced off against the Nazis in the snow. That got a chuckle out of me. I thought at first this was a straight up horror movie, but the end of that trailer showed me that its a comedy (Fritz of the Dead, as someone in the TBs said).

I still won't see it, but if it were to pass thru on cable I'd probably give it a go.

Fucking hell. It's the new snakes on a plane! Other zombie ideas: Zombie Vatican City. Zombie L.A. Racist Police Force. Zombie Brazilians. Zombie Orthodox Jews. Zombie Mom. Zombie Astronauts. Zombie Civil Engineers. Zombie Record Producers. ZOMBIE RAPPERS. Zombie Great White Sharks. Zombie John Cheever. Zombie Political Party. Zombie Bachelor Party. Zombie Office Christmas Party. Zombie Boss. Zombie White Collar Middle Manager (Title? "Working Stiff"). Zombie Parkourists. Zombie Trees ("Dead Wood"). Zombie Pornstars ("Dead Wood"). Zombie Addicts... like they don't WANT to eat brains anymore. And finally Zombie's on a Plane, or cruise ship even. ZOMBIES ON AN EARLY 30s ZEPELLIN.
