American Psycho Remake

All the dirt. All the top secret stuff. Anything that has to do with the process of getting us to sit and watch something projected on the big screen.

American Psycho Remake

Lionsgate Plots Microbudget Remake Of ‘American Psycho’

His take was to tap the Bret Easton Ellis novel and turn it into a down and dirty new version that imagines how yuppie serial killer Patrick Bateman would fare in New York today, factoring in how the world has changed since the 2000 film that starred Christian Bale.

Sigh.

This "re-imagining" shit has got to stop. This film is not necessary, it's simply cinematic grave robbing.

particularly because the movie was set in the 80s (no year exactly was given right?)

You mean your outlook on the eighties hasn't changed in the last decade?

I'm shocked at your stagnancy as a human being

This guy is David Fincher's protegé and he gets stuck with this? It sounds lost between a sequel and a remake. Will it feature Bateman getting out of prison for the murders he committed in the first film to find that an up-and-coming serial killer is dating his estranged daughter?

And exactly how has New York city changed since the world depicted in the novel and film set in late 1980s? You mean there are no longer rich powerful cokehead douchebags who feels they can get away with anything? And how will they fit Mila Kunis's character into this?

Anyway, Lionsgate is producing, which means at least we might get Stallone as Bateman, which would be pretty funny.

That's a guy clutching at straws.
The most totally pointless remake or 're-imagining' (to use the buzzzz terms) since Van Sant's prattish Psycho.

That article should be titled Bret Easton Ellis fanfics himself. It just sounds like such a rehash of the first novel with the pop culture icons changed/updated.

Instead of writing about Bateman's obsession with these personages, he should actually write a novel in the first person as Kim Kardashian, then get Charlie Kaufmann to adapt it for the screen. That would put him back in the news.

Yeah let me jump on the "totally unnecesary" bandwagon here.
