Hmmmm.... I like the updated operation mechanics for the suits.

I didn't hate the first film, but wasn't entertained enough to warrant a second viewing, either (although I'll probably rewatch before checking this out).

looks worth the watch to me. i really enjoyed the first one, captured the feel of the japanese Kaiju(sp?) shows I watched when i was a sprout, and is pretty rewatchable as well, thanks to both the visuals and the performances. not sure if this one will have the heart of the first but looks to be a fun ride anyway

I'm guessing that in this future world the top money making corporations are in the steel and concrete and building industry. And they are the ones responsible for bringing back the kaiju... more smashed buildings equals more contracts and money.


Also, since the robot jocks in this one are kids, they won't die. So we'll see robots get their limbs ripped off and get beat down, but the pilots will emerge with scratches ala cops in The Dukes of Hazzard.
