AVENGERS: ENDGAME

All the dirt. All the top secret stuff. Anything that has to do with the process of getting us to sit and watch something projected on the big screen.

AVENGERS: ENDGAME

I'm really excited to see how this film plays out. This whole Marvel world (minus a couple of Thor movies that weren't horrible, but weren't really all that good, either) has just been a fun ride for me. It's also been a blast watching my kids (ages 7,9,10), one by one, fall in love with this series. They have no real desire to get into the comics themselves, but that's okay. They'll always be there if they want them.

I think it's an easy bet that Steve Rogers dies in this. With him looking at Peggy Carter's picture in that locket....he still owes her a dance....it would make the perfect bookend to The First Avenger.

Yeah, I'm quite looking forward to this as well. I run hot and cold on the Marvel movies but Infinity War blew me away, and I can't wait to see how they wrap things up. I'm hopeful that the (*ahem*) reduced cast will allow them to dig into character moments a bit more, which is what this trailer seems to be promising. I honestly don't need or want to see anymore footage; just release the thing under a shroud of mystery.

that is a good point, after Infinity War I am all in to see Endgame just out of a sense of curiosity alone, I want to see how they connect everything for a resolution and what, or who as the case may be, the casualties will be. I am also VERY curious to see what new(er)doors it opens for Phase 4 when the MCU starts to go more galactic. with Disney/Marvel's new acquisitions, i.e. the Fantastic 4, they now have more than enough pieces they need to fill out a pretty complete interstellar/interdimensional cinematic universe. consider the X-Men a loss boo hoo, at least for now, but then Disney's hunger knows no bounds, kind of like Galactus,  , and it seems only a matter of time before they devour that property as well.

For those of you who dozed off during the Superbowl, here's the ad they ran for Avengers 4:

Once again they've given us absolutely nothing to go on, and I love it.

I chuckled at the end shot of this trailer. The tone of the teaser is ominous and serious, then the shot of the Avengers slo-mo walking in shadow as they prepare for something momentous, with a fucking talking racoon in the middle. Hi-larious!

Really good.
Fitting ending.
But a lot happens. It'll take a few viewings to fully digest.

who wants to lay odds on my ability to avoid spoilers on this movie until it comes out on demand in a few months? i've already pretty much resigned myself to having the ending ruined by then.

It had far too many problems to be anywhere near as as good as Infinity Wars.

It was a good film, just not a great one.

Also stuff seemed to be crowbarred in there.

I loved it too. To have the end battle not just be so gloriously full scale but to carry so much emotional weight to it, rarely am I moved to see heroes come in fighting but this was exulting and actually made me believe in Hope.

Love Captain's well deserved rewarded ending. No he didn't die, but his tale as a hero came to an end, but in the sweetest way. Thank you Captain Marvel and Ant-Man for coming to save us.

Some people complain about there being so many superhero movies but I think we're living in a golden age of cinema entertainment with them, as it's good to be surrounded by inspiring heroes who make us be the best we can be and tell us that even against the hardest most despairing and evil of times - we can actually win.

a "superhero" movie is one of the oldest forms of a story, maybe the oldest. some of, if not the very first tales told around the fire of ancient man were almost assuredly forms of super hero stories. they are timeless and go to the root of our identity as sentient creatures with conscience and morality. super hero stories formed the basis of religions and societal values. it can be a drama, a tragedy, a comedy, a love story, and adventure, or all of them. when well done a super hero story is the shit and they never get old. nuff said. :D

So that was a fun movie! I haven't seen the last few one off movies, so there were definitely some things that I wasn't tracking along with, but I think the beauty of this movie (and maybe this whole marvel run) is that its not really necessary to know everything about everything to enjoy what's on the big screen in front of you. Just the right amount of drama, action, and humor. And well acted too...

Questions:
I didn't stick around after the credits (I had to pee so bad), was there a scene at the end?

The scene at Tony's lake, the memorial, when they pan over all the people in attendance: at the end of the line, there was this teenage boy standing by himself, and two older people behind him. Didn't recognize who there were, anybody? They were in between the Guardians and PowerGirl on the steps.

So Captain America had to put all the stones back to where they got them from, in their previous timelines, or something bad would happen. So that means all the shit that happened in THOSE timelines still happened, and the one we watched was an alternate? Fucking time travel.

Yeah, no post-credits stinger on this one, which felt appropriate. Plus they probably knew people needed to pee.

The two adults behind awkward teenage kid from Iron Man 3 were Maria Hill and Thunderbolt Ross.
