does the girl come with any of the titles....because i would need something super hetero, like sex with her, to cleanse me of that g@y feeling that watching one tree hill, gilmore girls, or full house would result in.

Whoa, O'Neill thanks! I went and found not only Smallville S1-2 but also Wonder Woman S1-2. All for 18.88 each. They were out of a couple, but you can get a rain check and pick the DVDs up later for the same price. THANKS!

LOL, no.

In fact, I was looking at the section where they had the DVD's and a couple walked by.

The guy said: "Whoa, Smallville for 18.88?!? THAT'S A GREAT BUY!!"

The girl said: "Well . . . Wait, Gilmore Girls?!?! AND ONE TREE HILL?? GET THEM!!!"

The guy said: "What about Smallville?"

She walked away and the guy lowered his head in shame as he picked up the Gilmore Girls sets and the One Tree Hill.

I never laughed so hard at another person in all my life . . .

I thought you might.

BUT, if it was you Dino, you would have slapped her, grabbed the Smallville DVDs and told her "Go a fetch a some pasta . . . I wanta the Fettucini Alfredo witha the meatballs, eh? Donta look at me likea that, you goddamn putz. Ia made the King Kong remake, eh? Thata money keeps you ina the Prada, no? Damna right, b!tch. Damma right."

And you would have begun with the Pilot while enjoying you fine Italian cuisine . . .

That's how you roll, right?

Damn Americans - you know how much I would have to pay for Smallville S1 in the HMV "sale"?

£30. At today's exchange rate, that's $53

My country is such a goddam rip-off

i love advertising. because it shows what people want to be, rather than what they are.

for example, the woman who would actually own all of these DVD collections would probably weigh something like 350 pounds and would be chomping down on ice cream, bon bons, several hoagies, and a raw moose, not popcorn.

minimum wage SHOULD be at least $10, but in the US it is still $5.25.

you can thank The Powers That Should Not Be (you know who) for that...

Actually, US minimum is $5.15, even worse.

Clinton and Clinton, "liberal" when it suited their concerns, didn't try particularly hard to raise the minimum after the increase in 1996. Bush's cronies and bought congressionals killed another bill recently to raise it to about $6. In the late '60s minimum, adjusted for inflation, was about $8 an hour. The low-wage worker has been losing ground for 35 years.

I know this because I was a minimum, then low-wage, worker until my mid 30s. In 1986 I was making $3.35 an hour. Until 1998 I never made more than about $17,000 a year; sometimes I was working two jobs. In '98 I moved to Colorado and started as an entry-level state employee at $19,000.

That is no great shakes because of the cost of living here, but it was amazing to me. I've also seen regular salary increases, which with a two-income family keeps us ahead of the game enough to put a bit away every month.

If you haven't read Nickel and Dimed: On Not Getting By in America, by Barbara Ehrenreich, check out your local library. It's a damning indictment of low-wage life.

Man, that sucks, Dennis.

I will say this though; food in your country is incredibly cheap compared to the UK.

Little comfort, I know.......

Hey O'Neil, if I put up a link to cheaper ones, will you ban me?

Seems to be a trend round these parts.
Personally, I'm an atheist in the voting booth and a theist in the movie theatre. I separate the morality of religion with the spirituality and solace of it. There is something boring about atheism.
