Some help please: Name this 80's hip-hop movie for me.

Anyone,
I am trying to remeber the name of this 80's rap/graffiti/break dancing movie from the 80's. I thought it was "Rappin" with Mario Van Peebles, but it definitely isn't. I am watching "Rappin" right now and it's pretty damn cheesy.

I remember a few things about the movie. It takes place in New York. One of the guys is a big time writer and winds up dying. Earlier in the film he spots a brand new white train with no graf on it and goes in search of it. He finds it and dies on the third rail when hes bombing it. I believe the cops were chasing him or something. One other scene I remember involves some kind of rap contest at a basement party.

That's all I got. Thanks in advance.

It has been years since i've seen it, and i don't remember much of the plot beyond grafitti and rap and dance, but it sounds like Wild Style.

Edit: here's the IMDB page, is this it?

Wild Style was a documentary of sorts. Whatever the name of the movie is was fiction.

If you've ever seen the movie Juice, with Tupac and Omar Epps, it is similar in feel to that. Group of guys, two of which are sort of throwaway characters the other two being the main focus. Where Omar Epps excelled in being a deejay, the one guy in this movie was all about graffiti. The part where the guy dies on the train is probably the most memorable scene.

Thanks Voldemoo.

Gleaming the Cube...

Or "A Brother's Justice" as it's known to television audiences once they realized no one, not even skaters knew what Gleaming the Fucking Cube meant.
