Superboy TV....

But it seems in the Second Quarter of this year, The Superboy tv series will be making its way to dvd...June 20th as i am led to believe.

Now i remember watching this show as a child, and collecting the corresponding comics...

John Haymes Newton and Gerald Christoper starred as Clark Kent/Superboy.....Newton in the first season, Christopher in the second, third and fourth...

This excites me, because there was much controversy surrounding this show, and if it was ever going to make it to dvd...

This websites great. Theyve got every major Superman everything releasing on DVD this year. Only things not coming out are the FILMATION Superman from 1966, but they mentioned it and Cartoon Network and Boomerang regualrly airs those so Im sure Warner still ahs the rights.

And of course the Ruby Spears Superman from 1988. They must not have the rights to that. Otherwise why not fire off a quick DVD release?

Interesting to note, theres a new Superman Animated Series DVD coming out. Maybe it wraps up the ending of Justice League Unlimited? Or Its new animation in the style of 'The Batman!"

Oh yeah and to keep this on topic. Superboy was cool. I preferred John Haymes Newton polo shirt wearing, no glasses hip Clark to Gerard Christopers' Christoper Reeve Redux.

But Gerard Christopers Superboy definitely was superior.

The show got better when he came aboard.

Also, though the older Luthor led to better stories, I always thought it was a cop-out with the plastic surgery that converted the Evil Frat Boy Luthor into Middle-Aged Supervillain Luthor.

It's amazing what we accepted then, under the guise of "it's a comic book"

If they tried that shit on SMALLVILLE some of you would just keel over and die.

I am sadly and deeply excited about this. Now if that tv show about Evie, the girl who's father was an alien, were to come to dvd, my childhood Sunday morning memories would be complete.

and i watched this show til the very end...I want this on dvd!
Another show i watched was "Small Wonder", where the little girl was a robot...and everyone thought she was real..and many zany adventures followed!


And the new animated series dvd, it could be one of two seperate things...
The New cartoon movie, that features Brainiac and Lex Luthor, or Volume 3 of the series that aired on WB...

Or something that we may not know about....hmmmm?

I used to watch this show all the time when I was a kid...her dad was summoned through a crystal ball...I would love to see it again. It is probably horrible by today's standards..haha.

All the eps were all filmed in Orlando at Universal Stuidos so i imagine when they did locations they scouted nearby. I slightly familar with the club scene in Orlando. Was it what is now the sapphire club in Orlando?
And where the PUNK Extras like goofy TV punks with bright colored MOHAWKS? The same guys that were the FOIL of at least one episode of every 80's Crime-Drama?

If TV and movies were realistic PUNKS would have had a bigger network of Gangs than the Bloods and The Crips.

It was filmed at JD Penguins, which also had a punk/Goth night, like every other club in FL during the late 80s / early 90s. (701 South anyone?)

Did it have the lame TV punks? Yes. Oh lord yes; anyone with dialogue (SAG) looked ridiculous.

The real freaks (us) were in the background, and had zero interaction with the cast. They served us booze though, all fucking day, and my 16 year old ass was smashed. We got into trouble for something, but I can’t remember what it was right now.

Oh, and we all had to act ‘Hypnotized’ and kind of ‘zombie out’ in Superboy’s general direction.
