Warning on Region 2 "Beat" Takeshi Collection

Postby AtomicHyperbole on Wed Mar 22, 2006 12:19 pm

I just settled down to watch Violent Cop, and discovered large sections of dialogue were completely devoid of subtitle translation... not sure if it's purposeful, but it IS really annoying. I've had to stop watching it because the stop/start nature of the subtitles is ruining my enjoyment of the movie completely, with up to a minute often left without words.

You've been warned. I haven't checked the other DVD's yet.

Is this the 3-dvd set, Violent Cop, Sonatine and Boiling Point?, because I've had them at one time and they were fine...

Yes, it's that edition. The Violent Cop DVD most definitely has subtitle issues. I tried it on three seperate players.

Hmmm, I have this box set but because I'd already seen Violent Cop so many times in college I haven't actually watched the DVD yet, I've had it for years too.

Give me a rough Time Code and I'll dig it out later after I've watched a bunch of Violent Cops in The Shield Finale.

NP, Proinsias. :)

John, you really don't need a timecode. Just watch it. You'll hit the issue pretty fast.
