SAVE MGM's "MIDNITE MOVIES" LINE!!!!

Postby Cineister Jim on Wed Apr 19, 2006 6:43 pm

Ok, I'm posting this anywhere it can get some traffic...

Sony, since purchasing the MGM library, is fuckin' around with the succesful Midnite Movies line, they don't plan on releasing any of the cult b-movies they have in there library this year, including a fully restored cut of The Witchfinder General that was recently completed...check out this link for all of the titles they have and to sign the petition...

Also, I would encourage you to e-mail Chris Franchino, manager of MGM's catalog marketing...

Chris_Franchino@spe.sony.com

And, David Bishop, head of MGM's video dept.

David_Bishop@spe.sony.com

I only have a few friends in my friends list, so please, repost this.

Thanks
Jim

Well, I sent them a very polite email telling them that I tend to buy from that line, which is true.

But let me just say...typical Sony. They need to get on the ball with home video or they're going to kill Blu-Ray in addition to losing a fortune.
This comment is in no way meant to insist your opinion is wrong or be considered an edict, solely this poster's opinion. That said, you are still a fool and will kneel before me in supplication.

Okay. Anybody got any more links on this? I'll do my best to make a deal out of it, here, there and everwhere.

Its a good line, and I've been missing it.

A world without a DVD release of a movie entitled 'Dagmar's Hot Pants, Inc.' is certainly not a world I want to live in.

So many of these titles belong in the "Modern Art: Movie Posters" thread from a couple weeks back!

DEFINITELY Dagmar's Hot Pants, Inc.

The Incredible Melting Man

The Neanderthal Man

X from Outer Space (aka Uchu daikaijû Girara)

I have a big hard-on for this style of movie poster...AND this style of movie...!

I've bought a couple of the MGM Midnite Movies movies;

The Dunwich Horror
The Fall of the House of Usher
The Pit and the Pendulum

And I love them all. Got commentary track on two of them, and clean anamorphic widescreen. Really great DVD's.

I've been planning on buying more from the MGMMM line so I hope they don't cancel it.
