I need to get some of my work from DVD to computer. What is the best ripper that people know of. I am looking at quality not speed.

Any Ideas?

there are many dude... you can download 'dvd to avi' which if you set it to uncompressed does an Ok job...

another oiption is to install Virtual DAEMON manager which creates phantom dvd drives on your computer... if you mount a dvd image to those drives it will let you explore the files and copy them as avis...

I'll ask someone I know - he is an expert on all things file conversion.

DVD Shrink will enable you to extract everything off a DVD and save it to your hard drive

DVD shrink if you want to compress it and burn it again
DVD decrypter if you just want to rip it to avis - its about one megabite freeware - amazing little bit of software

yup.

those are the two that i use. even if there is some protection that dvd decrypter cant overcome, dvd shrink takes care of it no problem.

I have my computer up and running properly now, so I am going to give these a go this week. Will report back the results. So far I've been using ImToo DVD. It's a good program with presets galore, thouh just not able to provide that 'ultimate quality' setting. always iffy div x.
