Been reading Herc's column when lo and behold my eyes did foresee some gold finally emerging among the dross that's been being milled out.

Superboy Season 1
Incredible Hulk Season 1
Bugaloos: The Complete Series(I only want to see this for the hotter than hot Caroline Ellis)
Samurai Jack Season 3
Venture Bros. Season 1(fuck yeah)
Brisco County Jr
Original Godzilla Cartoons(vol 1 and 2)

And one Herc missed I think: Yellowbeard, which I fuckin think is awesome. I mean, c'mon. Monty Python and Cheech and Chong in the SAME movie?! How fuckin cool is THAT?

And a question: What tv series HAS to be on dvd right now? What's missing?

My top 5:

1. Misfits of Science
2. Star Trek: The animated series(supposedly coming out but I've heard nothing)
3. Daria
4. Justice League Unlimited(should be on the way)
5. Fantastic Four(the 1960s cartoon)

I'm planning on getting some more of the Star Trek Fan Collective discs. The first two were great for someone like me, who definitely doesn't want every single episode.

I'd like to have a proper copy of Police Squad on DVD.

And I'd like to see the BBC release some Lee & Herring shows.

Transformers: The Movie 20th Anniversary Special Edition DVD

Is it the edition with the ending with the voice over that says. "Dont worry kids. We will see optimus again real soon.... "

Cause I freaking hate that edition.

I just want someone to sing to me that I have the touch and that I have the power...

Maybe it will have both.
Either way YOU GOT THE TOUCH!

how about the 1966 batman? i cant believe that shit isnt out yet.

and i would love to see the dana carvey show, and SNL (by season!) get released as well.

its NOT cool, as i own the only laserdisc of this movie in existence.

btw, when is this coming out? ive gotta get it. my laserdisc copy sucks!

The release date I believe is June 27, if I read it from Amazon correctly.

As for the 1966 Batman, I hear it's got a damn long road ahead of it, if it EVER gets released at all. I'd love to see it on dvd as well, seeing as how the movie got a swell dvd(very well worth $5.50 for sure)

And yes, Thundarr the Barbarian would be damn cool. He's like a hetero version of He-Man but with a much cooler name.

Another set of cartoons not yet on dvd, but should be is the Filmation library. Zorro, Tarzan, Batman, Superman, Superstretch and Microwoman, Flash Gordon, etc. I dunno why they're not on dvd either but they need to be.

4. Justice League Unlimited(should be on the way)
5. Fantastic Four(the 1960s cartoon)

Justice League and Unlimited Will be out by the end of this year.

Fantastic Four also had a little known 1978 series.

ahem and I quote:

fearful of showing dangerous "imitatable behavior", NBC required that The Human Torch be replaced with a cute little robot named Herbie. To tie in with the show, the comic book version of Reed made a "Herbie the Robot" of his own, just like the one on TV — but didn't kick the Torch out to make room. The 1978 animated version was produced by DePatie-Freleng, best known for The Pink Panther. The studio was later bought by Marvel.

Bucky! Captain Bucky O'Hare!
He goes where no ordinary rabbit would dare!
If your Righteous Indignation has suffered a hit
And your photon accelerator's broken a bit
And you're losing your mind, and you're having a fit
Get the funky fresh rabbit who can take care of it!

kortonaskew, I remember the 78 series. Yeah, cause goodness knows millions of kids set themselves on fire watching the 1960s version of Fantastic Four.

As for Bucky O'Hare, I fuckin loved that series. Had great action, and it was a bit criticized for being a pseudo knockoff of TMNT(THEIR assessment, not mine). Would've made a great direct to video movie.

And a final note, on a series LONG overdue:

The Mighty Orbots.

They were basically a Voltron/Transformers hybrid, but the animation was alot better than Voltron, even if the robots themselves were a bit silly. I recently saw a videotape on sale at amazon auction for over $60. I'd love to see this.

Considering what Lucas has been releasing upon the masses...

I'm sure we'll get a super-duper, deluxe special edition soon. Maybe even a special issue of "Playduck" included.

Ofcourse, it will be a laser disc copy and not an original print...

P.S. I actually like this movie in a kooky, childhood nostalgia kind of way. Lea Thompson... oo boy!

im sure he'll digitally add some modern actor into it too

Gimme Howard The Duck and i'll be happy~ But that's most unlikely, isn't it?
I'm looking forward to the August 15th release of Scary Movie 4, too. That was one of my favorite recently released movies.

I want to see "Mr. Belvedere" (cheesy 80's tv sitcom) , Werewolf (short lived tv show that aired on Fox in the 80's, Chuck Conners was a bad ass in it), and Moon Shot (1994 documentary on the history of the Space Program) released on DVD.

I'm dying for Silent Hill on DVD, it has around 6 or so featurettes or something. Sounds like a good enough number, but it depends on how long they are I guess. Gans said there was tons and tons of stuff they could put on a bonus disc that wouldn't be on the first release though. I'd like to wait for that, but I just liked the film too much.

I've got NEWSRADIO, but what about WKRP IN CINCINNATI? It was a sitcom years ahead of it's time. Of course it's likelihood of ever getting on DVD is nill because they used so much great classic rock and only got the TV broadcast rights, not home video/DVD rights so the clearances are next to impossible.

DAMN

This has to be one hell of a DVD bargain, surely?

A 5-boxed DVD set of 9 classic film-noir movies plus a full-length documentry on the genre. Films include 'D.O.A', 'The Strange Case of Martha Ivers', 'He Walked By Night', 'Scarlet Street' and the brilliant 'Detour' (one of my favourite 'b' movies of all-time).

It's called (appropriately) 'The Ultimate Film Noir Collection' and the cost to our pockets?......£19.99. In other words about £2 a film.

I think it's either just been released or is about to be. Whatever, I'll be treating myself to an early Xmas present!

Oh yeah, the Noir Collection.
They can put out more of these any time they like.
Collect them, save them, trade them with friends....
