I just bought Ghostbusters for £2 in Asda. So I can take part now.

Hurrah.

I'm still up for a text commentary tonight, what time FG? 7.45?

PostPosted: Wed Sep 27, 2006 1:46 pm

Yep. 7:45 is fine. It'll give me time to Celebrity Masterchef.....

.....

.....What?

Are you doing the commentary in a thread or via messenger?

In a thread I think, we can start a new one for Ghostbusters commentary. Others could watch it at a later date, if they wished and add to the same thread.

I think if a bunch of us decided on a film and time, the resulting thread would make for interesting reading once the film was over.

Anyone up for conducting the experiment?

I was just wondering if you knew I did this a few weeks back whilst watching BattleField Earth which can be seen here: http://zone.aintitcool.com/viewtopic.php?t=48167

Good job on making it more orginized, and I'll be sure to do my part.

Sorry Psyz, I had not realised you were watching it at that moment.

Hopefully you can join in on the next one.

Any ideas for another movie next month? Something a little more in depth, a tightly plotted thriller might be good to post on real time, see if everyone understands twists etc the same.

I'll put a poll up in a couple of days, to give time for other suggestions. It seems people are going for popcorn flicks, which is a good idea.

I'd personally like to do an Arnie movie next, like Papa suggested earlier in the thread. Total Recall would be a good one, or T2.

Usual Suspects

Fargo

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

Stripes

PostPosted: Wed Sep 27, 2006 5:29 pm

The Game

or

The Boondock Saints

two movies I'd personally love to do this with

EDIT:
monorail77 wrote:Usual Suspects

Fargo

actually I'd be down for either of these as well

EDIT AGAIN: I could do Total Recall but I don't have T2 - though a blockbuster run is possible.

And to give time for people to get hold of a copy.

T2 would be a good choice.

The Game would be fun. Good suggestion Tf

How about con movies like House of Games or The Spanish Prisoner

Or, while we're talking Mamet, how about Glengarry Glen Ross or Wag the Dog?

PostPosted: Wed Sep 27, 2006 5:38 pm
by tfactor
Wag the Dog, and here I thought I was the only person on the planet that actually liked that movie

mono I haven't seen any of those others you just mentioned, but if you like it and others are down I'm negotiable

Athena just made a couple suggestions I would absolutely love to do this with:

True Romance
or
Kung Pow (hells yeah)

dude,

trev,

run, dont walk to your local video purveyor, acquire, and summarily watch "Glengarry Glen Ross" NOW!

that movie has cool in fucking spades.
not big on effects, but huge on everything else.
unparalelled performances and black humor mase this flick an instant fucking classic. you need to see it immediately. in fact, anyone that hasnt seen it really should do so, and the sooner the better!

PostPosted: Wed Sep 27, 2006 5:48 pm
by monorail77
I haven't seen True Romance in years. That's be fun. Or Pulp Fiction. Or Reservoir Dogs.

Or thie Shining or The Matrix (taking a cue from somebody's av and sig's *ahem*)

How about Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure? That could maybe bring the funny.

I'll make one more plug - for Congo, as the silliest and funniest movie of the ages.

OK, I'll stop now. I could go on and on.

edit: (and hey, look at that, 700 posts and counting. With this post I am officially Ron Mexico. Yay for me).

I've been told things like this few times in my life, but looking at the IMDB cast of actors in this movie, I'm taking it very seriously. Plus me being a sales guy ...

to the blockbuster mobile

but gabbly has no archiving.

unless somebody copies it to a thread here.

and if they do that, we might as well just do it here in the zone.

posterity prefers detailed records be kept, y'know.

We do this on another forum whenever Lost is on, it becomes like a forum based chat room.

Actually it would work better with realtime chat, perhaps set up an IRC server?

I'm usually home by 6:15 PM Pacific Time, but don't go to too much trouble to accomodate my schedule, if it doesn't work this time I'll catch the next one.

hey thats right.

me and moo are in the same time zone. that will certainly help simplify things.

proportionally relative to the number of participants of course.

Well it will probs be me, you & Moo, so I will stay up till 2.30 amish and that should be around 6.30Pm your time.

Was anyone ever interested in trying to record an audio commentary?

PostPosted: Tue Dec 05, 2006 7:57 pm
by Brocktune
you mean on our own, or as a group, like a zoner commentary?

although, i suppose, since i have no fucking clue how we would record one as a group, that you meant recording one stag.

if i thought my material was solid enough, and that people would actually listen, i would totally do it.

PostPosted: Tue Dec 05, 2006 7:59 pm
by Fried Gold
As a group, as a Zoner commentary people could use with their DVDs.

We could quite easily do it via Skype.
