Man, great thread, guys. I'm so jealous I can't join in, but its 2:00 in the afternoon here and I am at work. Enjoying the commentary though. I can totally picture the whole film in my head. I was goofy for this thing as a kid. I also had a very fun Activision Ghostbusters game for my Commodore 64. Fun, but somewhat annoying as it would play the theme over and over. You couldn't shut it off. But when you pressed the spacebar at any time, the cheesy compu-voice would say "Ghostbusters" like it was signing the theme. Cracked us up. Every. Single. Time.

This real time commentary should be a regular Zone thing (if it isn't already). Just scheduled a little better for western Canada partcipants!

i like that tape delay effect on the drum track in that "saving the day" song. im a sucker for that shit. there is this one secret chiefs 3 song... fuck i forget what its called. its like the second movement of "Emir of the Bees" on their "Second Grand Constitution and Bylaws" record. i think its called "counterintelligence" or some shit like that. anyways, they use it too.
love it.

The Marshmallow Man was loved by all. I seem to remember people crying when he gets set on fire.

I don't think it terrified anyone beyond the capacity for rational thought.

whoa!

egon just said his door swings both ways.
if thats true, he should have jumped all over annie potts. looking like the little she man that she does in this flick. what a contrast to her sultry, slutty vamp in "Who's Harry Crumb".

man, if i was peter venkman, as soon as i realized that dana barrett was still alive inside the smoking shell of that giant dog, i would have chipped out the section around her ass first, and totally raw dogged that shit before she even had a chance to get out of that fucker.

I started reading this thing thinking it was done a few weeks back or something. Holy crap. It just happened.

I don't think of "Evolution" as "Ghostbusters III" because it was so awful.

I like to think of "The Frightners" as closer to "Ghostbusters III", except that the ghosts aren't so... inhumanly goofy.

By the by, if you ever play any role-playing games, during the scene where they are examining Dana, listen to the banter back-and-forth between Egon and Ray, where they discuss getting the building historical records and consulting Tobin's Spirit Guide and that other book. It's what every Call of Cthulhu player group should do before their investigations.

Yes, I.R. Ubernerd.
