I got a region-free player, so I'm seriously putting some thought in buying this from Amazon UK. Comes out 1/15/07. Or 15/01/07 to you Brits.

Anyway, what are the special features, if any? I can't seem to find any specs. And if this ends up being light on the special features side, I may just wait until the Region 1 release. Not that it matters, if the movie is as good as I hear it is.

And yes, I'm seeing this in the theater on Saturday, so don't sweat it.

I know it's only coming out on the 15th, but I asked the same question as you a couple of weeks ago and I'm pretty sure they haven't released the list of Special Features yet. It's not entirely unlikely that it'll be a bare-bones disc like quite a lot of new releases, so I'd watch out if you're planning on pre-ordering this mutha.

Plus Veggie, I never got the American date thing. Month/day/year doesn't make that much sense to me. It's like saying, "I have two hundred, one thousand and three" rather than "I have one thousand, two hundred and three".

Yes, I've put way too much thought into this. :|

Don't you guys have that wacky metric system thingy, too?

Just kidding! Teh metric system is actually a way better more logical way to do things.
But hey, we're America, we do whatever we God Damn please.

I'm pretty goddamn dangerous to my loved ones when I have a little extra scratch in my hand. Special features or no, I'm seriously debating getting this.

Sounds like month/day/year to me....

Say it out loud...it just seems to flow better than saying today is 3rd, January, 2007...

But to say the 4th of...and the 10th of...this month and that...is just a waste of words...who needs to use the word 'of'

So, for you - you can just say that today is January 4th...

ON topic, I wanna see this again a heck of a lot. John Locke said he didn't like it that much on a second viewing and that's got me concerned that maybe I won't. But then again, he does like Munich

Play.com has a "Men Under Attack" Featrette listed and that's it.

Alas...

But I understand it being released there first...it's just the way things go sometimes...but already on DVd...?

Doesn't that usually just happen with Hugh Grant films...?

I think the reason I'm still very much in thrall is that there's no feeling of 'set pieces' or indeed anything contrived or extraneous - all the thrilling action serves the story, all the incidentally mentioned and implied distopian sci-fi world reaches you as you are getting to know Theo and the other characters - I'm also living in London currently so I'll admit that that factor perhaps makes it seem all the more immediate... but it seems like a future to this world, an extension of the here and now, and not far off, if that makes sense - did a review in the thread also.

I didn't dislike it on second viewing, it just lost a lot of it's initial impact, went from my favourite film of 2006 to one of my top 5 where as Miami Vice got better for me second time around.

I'll probably buy it at some point down the line when I can get it for £5 in HMV or Virgin.

I loved MV as well (BADASS!) but COM had an emotional impact on me that keeps making me think about it afterwards.

It's Science fiction on par with Bladerunner in many ways (FG made this comparison before I did).

COM is a better film but MV was more rewatchable, I can't wait to see the extended cut.

Maybe I was just too tired (and tipsy, I was knocking back the Coronas in the Drafthouse) to appreciate it fully again, It most certainly did resonate with me for a long time afterwards when I first watched it, it just seemed to lack a certain something to make it an absolute classic for me.

I'm probably sounding and being harsher on the film than I mean to be, it was good enough to get my vote in the Shenanigans riddled Zoners Favourite film of 2006 thread, far better than The Departed.

Ditto.

The only thing I can find out about the DVD is that has a "'Men Under Attack' featurette".
