STEEP was DEEP

Postby sagenonpareil on Thu Apr 10, 2008 9:13 am

Just watch an extreme skiing documentary called STEEP. What a good docu this was, I cant believe the way those dudes ski down sheer mountain faces. This movie was good for two reasons, firstly its literally breathtaking particularly if viewed on a large high def screen. Secondly its inspiring, seeing what theese guys do just to get a thrill, seeing the way they are always on the precipice of death. Man it just leave you speeechless. I dont even like skiing, well not that I dont like it, I just suck at it but watching it in HD take all the risk out of it for me and makes the activity very enjoyable. Skiing is definitely bettter while on the couh in 80 degree weather with a smoothie near by.

I can see it now. Steep: a 4-hour magnum opus by Ken Burns. Watch as a tea leaf makes its thrilling journey from the Szechuan province to a bag of Celestial Seasonings. The "voice" of the tea leaf played by Gary Busey...

For a minute there I thought you were talking about Warren Miller's Steep and Deep, which is fabulous. If you want the BEST extreme skiing docus, Warren Miller is the man. I grew up on Warren Miller's ski films. Simply the best.
