A massive haul for me this year...

Deadwood box set, with authentic saloon playing cards and poker chips which are extremely cool. Im yet to see any of season 3, but might work my way through 1 and 2 again first.

Life of Brian double dvd.

Gears of war 2.

Scene it movie game for xbox 360.

Watching the watchmen book.

rather nifty new snowboarding jacket.

Head lamp and stormproof lighter, and some good thermals for my expeditions into the wild white yonder.

Fishing bag.

Hugo Drax Moonraker watch, also quite nifty.

USB drumpad, which looks like daft fun.

Double present with fiance of stylish full cutlery set, and smoothie maker.

And loads of other little bits and bobs, so all in all plenty to be happy with.
...and so forth.

Another SPACED fan. I've had my region 2 DVD set for years now. I bought the U.S. release too and I wish more people would discover the gem that is TIM & DAISY...

Ever watch it with the "Homage Meter" subtitle track on? HILARIOUS

Not yet. I plan on it though. I'm working my way through Season 2 right now. Brian has just become part of his art exhibit, Daisy is working for Nurse Ratchett, and Tim and Mike are recreating "Fight Club" through their robot.

WALL-E
This is a a good animated movie about a robot. He lives a solitary life cleaning shit up and watching movies and being generally curious so I relate to him a lot.

CORALINE 3D
I sorta remember hearing about this movie but never saw it. My mum bought it for my because it is in 3D and I like cartoons. It comes with 4 pairs of 3D glasses, so I guess I'll have to double the amount of friends I have if I want to take advantage of that shit.

PIXAR SHORTFILMS
My mum also bought me this because I like cartoons. It's all the little shorts they play before Pixar movies like the one where the old man plays chess with himself.

JUNO
I won an Oscar for writing this film so I think it's pretty fitting that I own it now.

BLUE VELVET
Didn't own it, glad that I now do.

GRAN TORINO
Liked this when I saw it. It is a pretty good but kinda strange movie.

4 FAST 4 FURIOUS
This film was like a religious experience for me back when it came out. Looking forward to having a complete F&F marathon in my home where I can drink and don't have to worry about being discreet when I get a Brewster boner.

DEADWOOD
I guess from the title this is a show about impotence or something. Could be interesting. I like that Ian McShane guy. Somebody should put him in a movie riding a giant preying mantis.

VENTURE BROTHERS season 1 & 2
Heard people praising this thing for years but I always shook it off because people love any cartoon with swearing and shit in it. But then my Oleg brother recommended this cartoon series to me and so I asked for it. Looking forward to getting into this one.

Nice haul there, Nacho.
And that Planet of the Apes loot FG got looks very sweet.

I finally got my hands of the first season of The Twilight Zone ( 1985 version), the one that had Harlan Ellison on board as creative consultant.
Some of my personal favorite stories were in the first year, and there was a shit load of talent all the way through.

The "fake" Ghostbusters came first, as we all know. The "real" GB were just the famous GB.

I got Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut from my mum. Had considered buying myself more prezzies, but money could be a bit tight for a while, due to circumstances detailed in other threads. Once that's resolved I might blow a bit of cash on a classy massage, though. Maybe do the whole spa thing, just once in my life.

And I've been tearing through these discs.. This show holds up INSANELY well by today's standards. The animation is still phenominal for 1980's cartoons and the writing is well above some of the shows of that time... And I forgot the inhuman amount of talent that was involved in this show. It reeks of a whose who of animation!

Two of the best presents I got this year,

Amaretto Coffee and Gringerbread flavouring - asbolutely fantastic and I'm going to hate it when I finish it.

District 9 on Bluray. The best film of last year is now finally mine in the best format possible (apart from actually having it ported into my head).

I've been wanting to watch Carnivale ever since Starship Troopers reminded me how much I like Clancy Brown. Plus it would mean I could stop watching Earth 2 to get my evil Kurgan fix.

For Christmas this year I got The Kingdom series 1 and 2, Always Sunny in Philadelphia seasons 1 and 2, and Inglourious Basterds.

THE EXPENDABLES - This is a good Oleg film. Statham keeps his shirt a little too much, so it won't get as much replay in my house as the TRANSPORTER films, but that's not to say this film isn't erotic.

TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY + TOTAL RECALL - Haven't watched TOTAL RECALL in a really long time. Looking forward to revisiting it. This was one of those Expendables bluray combo packs. I already owned T2 because it is my favorite movie, but I didn't have it on bluray, so it's all a bonus.

INCEPTION - This was one of those self-serving gifts. My sweetheart got it for me because she wanted to see it but missed it in the cinemas. I hope she doesn't mind me calling her 'Ellen' during snuggletime afterwards. I thought it was a great movie. Looking forward seeing it again. Keep fighting the 3D, Nolan!

HILL STREET BLUES: SEASON ONE - I think maybe a tag got mixed up or something because this doesn't really look like my thing. Looks like some 80s gritty American cop show. Fuck this.

DEXTER: SEASON WHATEVER - I think this was another one that was intended for somebody else or something. I saw the first two seasons of this show years ago, but thought it shit the bed at the end of the second season. The case for this season has Dexter with a baby and usually when you have the characters start having babies that means you are officially out of ideas.

KUNG-POW: ENTER THE FIST - I remember this being a pretty funny cartoony humour movie like HOT SHOTS or NAKED GUN back when I was a teenager on drugs.

TOY STORY 3 - I really liked this and it's good to have stuff like this for when my best friend comes by with her daughters.

4 MARTIAL ARTS FAVORITES: MILITANT EAGLE, THE PRODIGAL BOXER, MOONLIGHT SWORD & JADE LION, THE BLOODY FISTS - I haven't heard of any of these. My mum frequently finds these shitty b-movies in bargain bins and buys them for me because she knows I like garbage.

JERSEY SHORE: SEASON ONE - My mum and I spent most of Christmas Day pounding beers and watching this shit. It's pretty good shit.

How To Train Your Dragon and Toy Story 3 on Blu-ray. Watched them both Christmas Day and Dragon was just as amazing without the 3D.

I only got a few this year:

HANNA - I talked about this film a couple times in relation to how I would raise my daughter and now I have it as a handy guide if I ever figure out how to concieve children

EMBRACE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES- Liked this one in cinemas, saw it again with my family yesterday and still think it's an excellent film

A couple of box sets of Roger Corman shit, one that's all Westerns, one that's all monster movies. Could be some fun drunk viewing.

Bought myself a Christmas gift this year: a documentary about mythologist Joseph Campbell called Finding Joe. I know nothing about it, but I'll watch it this week.

Roomie got The Polar Express and Unstoppable, so, basically, I got them too.

Aliens and The Conversation blurays plus bought myself Curb Your Enthusiasm seasons 5 6 7 (at half price each).

Any Zoners have an iPad? I'm trying to figure out the best way to get my existing movies available to watch on this thing but it's not as easy as I thought...
