Ahhhh after reading Herc's bit on tonight's episode, it's all crystal clear.

Now, the real question is this:

WHO IS Dilbert27?

If Herc were here he'd know what to do. Or more accurately, he'd ask TV Guide what to do, and TV Guide would be all 'Oh, man it's easy, check dis out...'

And then guitars would squeal. It would be so fucking cool.

I do hopes that it's infact teh Dilbert27 that leaves us...

(Sorkin's a Coldfire fan, mm? Eh, how could he not be...)

...and not his Wizard of OZ style string puller.

And not like pretend sad, but like... non-pretend sad.

Infact, enough with the pretend putzyness, it tends to stick when what I don't want it to anyway, RaulMonkey leave me... to say that is, if you leave The Zone, then I will cry.

So? Any bets on who the father is? I'm assuming it will be a character we know. That there has been an off camera fling that has gone unmentioned. Which I think is a rather cool way of doing it. I personally have no idea who it could be. But if they write Jack off the show, I'll be pretty fucking pissed.

well, we know Jordan doesn't want kids (or so she says) so I guess we can rule out any artificial means. So she's been getting her jiggy on with someone. Someone she's befriended. It's either Danny or Tom. She's been chummy with Danny in most episodes and she befriended Tom at the wrap party. I'll be surprised if it's anyone else (unless we haven't really met that person yet).

I dont think I'd like Danny being the father. Would feel a bit forced. And I don't know that their characters need that connection...unless of course there is no connection and this is the result of a one-night stand they had. If they didn't romantically like each other, just fucked, and now she's preggers....I'd be down for that.

I was kinda thinking it might be Jack. Late night at the office thing...it would explain why he suddenly gave a shit about her future when talking to Danny on the plane. Plus she kept talking about how she had become the cliche...what's more cliche than the idea of a powerful woman banging her boss in the workplace?

ETA: Oh and the obvious one too...that's why Jack says he has to resign in the scenes for the next ep...that's what got me thinking it was him in the first place.

ETA2: or is that all so obvious that he's a red herring?!

That's what I thought. It was too obvious....must be a red herring. Maybe Jack has to resign b/c he refuses to fire Jordan. In fact, I bet that's it! It's cleverly edited to make us think he's resigning, when what's probably happening is that he's told he will probably have to fire jordan. To which he responds, "If you want me to fire her, then I have to resign, b/c I won't do it....blah blah blah." And the entire issue gets nicely held off for another episode. Which to be honest, is kinda making it lose it's steam. I mean, does anyone really think Jordan will lose her job?

I'd guess herring. After last week's preview, I assumed that Jordan would be fired and fainted because she was so distraught. Never occurred to me that the episode had a "everyone's sick" plotline.

bastard_robo wrote:I kinda wander in and out of this show. Was the writer girl the chick from last nights ep. in Shaun of the dead?

Holy Crap! I've watched this every week and never got beyond "looks vaguely familiar.. sort of attractive... sort of not, yet that's half the attraction...". Another 2 points for this show in my book.

Having seen the ep, I think Jordon definitely had a one night stand with someone. I don't think she's ready to let her guard down yet. Jack? Maybe, but they'd really have to explain that one for me to buy it. Danny makes more sense. Or Harriet.

Yeah, the overuse of Matt's "you're pregnant" joke, just so we'd understand that Jordan was pregnant at the end of the episode....that was lame and forced. Bad writing.

Pretty good episode, the comedy and the drama worked nicely, I was afraid it was going to go all Religious debate again with all the historical birth of Christ stuff but they didn't push it too far, I'm actually liking Amanda Peet too which is strange because I never liked her at all until I saw her in Syriana which was the first time she didn't annoy me.

Sure the show isn't perfect but it's a good watch, I hope it has some staying power as I think it just grew on me.

I know the FCC can be pretty hard-headed, but I think the show's being a bit silly with its depection of the possible ramifications of the f-word (the FCC pulling their transistor?). Especially in light of the fact that it wasn't too long ago Bono uttered the word on the Golden Globes and the FCC barely batted an eye.

Nit pick I know, anyways, been enjoying the show quite a bit more these last few weeks. Though I have missed an episode here and there so I'm a bit out of the loop as to when Corddry's character stopped being gay. He was gay right? I thought I recalled that as a pretty big point when his parents came to visit.

Edited - heh, forgot about that word filter

The FCC reversed their decision on the Bono thing but I don't think they levied a fine because they didn't want to look like bigger idiots than they are.

CBS is still fighting the Janet Jackson Superbowl thing but I don't know what they're doing about the Without A Trace fine.

The big point when his parents came to visit was that one son was on TV and the other was in Afghanistan.

Conservative Group Blasts 'Studio 60' Renewal

Townhall.com, a website operated by the conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation, has blasted NBC's decision to renew Aaron Sorkin's Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Sorkin, it said Tuesday, "will get to continue his anti-Christianity themed show despite low ratings." The website accused Sorkin not only of pushing "his radical agenda on television," but of using his wealth to fund liberal causes and political candidates.

Damn straight! That bit was fucking awesome!

I enjoyed the episode overall, but the only bit that REALLY floored me was Danny's speech to Jordan at the end. "If you want to run, I understand, but you better get a good head start 'cause I'm coming for you." Just beautiful stuff. (BTW, it's already on YouTube.)

I always loved the West Wing Christmas episodes. There was just a certain flavor to them that put you in a tender mood. The bit at the end of the show with the New Orleans musicians playing captured that perfectly.
