VERONICA MARS

The greatest TV in history is being made right now. The worst TV in history is being made right now.

VERONICA MARS

Postby Pudie on Fri Dec 09, 2005 4:40 pm

I did a search and there was an old thread that wasn't about VM in general, so I figured I'd make this one for general discussion of the show.

What does everyone think of the new season? Better then the first imo. It feels more cohesive then the first and the mysterys of the week tie into the overall mystery(s) more.

I've just recently watched the first season on DVD and I've completely fallen in love. Kristen Bell is an AMAZING find, and I do not say that lightly.

That said, I'm gonna try to catch up on season two, but I'll likely avoid this forum for fear of SPOILERS.

Speaking of which, Pudie, you might want to edit this thread to "Veronica Mars Season 2 (SPOILERS)", or something to that effect so people know how far you're discussing.

Good thread though. There are plenty of VM fans already in the Zone.

Done and done.

I agree with Bell being a great find. She totally makes the show what it is. It helps that 95% of the supporting casts kicks ass as well, especially Logan Mac and her dad, but she is the show.

I was late on the VMars boat as well. I bought the first season based on Kevin Smith's and Joss Whedon's reviews and absolutely loved it. First season really kept me guessing until the very last ep. Great performances and writing. I didn't like some of the voiceovers in the early eps, but they improved as the season went on.

Second season is, imo, much better than the first. The eps. work well stand-alone and in the context of the overall season, much better than the first season. Also, the story is a bit more interesting, although that might also be because the characters are more familiar.

My only complaint about VMars is that it's on opposite Lost. I only watch 4 shows, and two of them are on at the same time. Lame.

Boy do I feel ya on that one. Lost and Mars are my 2 favorite shows on television. I wish they'd make it an hour earlier, especially now that top model is over.

Thank God for my DVR so I can keep up with both VM and Lost. Although lately I have been more looking forward to VM rather than Lost. Mars has improved on their first season while Lost has shown signs have staggered here and there in my opinion.

Those were good choices, but I honestly liked the season finale of Lost better than VM. The line, "we'er gonna have to take the boy" still creeps me out. That and Sawyer being hotter than Logan (not by much, okay, yeah by whole leaps and bounds, so, um, yeah, Lost was better).

No, the end of all things would be The Hobbit.

Walts kidnapping was probably the highlight of the whole finale , but as a whole I think the closure made the Mars finale that much better.

I feel bad comapring the 2 shows though. Like I said, my 2 favorite shows on TV.

But Veronica is better looking then anyone on Lost, except Hurley.

I still maintain that UPN seriously underestimated the crossover fans between Lost and Veronica Mars. Now to watch VM, I have to either find somebody with a tape recorder every week or download it online, which I feel bad doing since I wanna do my part to help with the ratings. If UPN believed in the show so much, enough to give it a second season, why'd they put it on opposite last year's new behemoth?

I would rather have Kate than Veronica.

Kate is a pistol and Veronica would probably talk your ear off and be analyzing everything.

True, but Kate would kill you in your sleep. Out of all of them I'd either have Mac (awesome) or Claire (adorable).

Um, I disagree. Kate would fuck you, but then be all mopey and guilty and crap. I think Veronica would get down to it with the right scenario.

I'd still do Kate though. I'm not big on the tiny blondes.

Claire would be waaaay more fun than Sun. She seems like she would be really picky in bed. Whereas Claire is a sexually frustrated single mom who would probably get right down to it. With the added bonus of being so incredibly gorgeous enough to fall in love with.

Seriously -- if you doubt me, imagine she's never whined about her baby before. She becomes like two-thousand times more appealing.

Spooning Veronica!.

Seriously underappreciated band, and Britt is one funny mo-fo live (ask him to beatbox...he will!).

This is hardly their best song but I found it pretty easily...
