Some great shows are finally returning in 2006, or continuing their seasons after long breaks, here are a few samples off the top of my head:

The return of 24
The return of The Shield
The return of Scrubs
The return of Battlestar Galactica
And only a couple more months until: The return of The Sopranos.
And only several months until: The return of Deadwood
And also, the finale of The West Wing, a show that has declined since Sorkin left but still remains dear to my heart.

What are you looking forward to most? What do you think might happen? If you are posting an actual spoiler, and not simple guesswork, then please post it tiny like this...

Galactica.

Man, television's really shitty these days. I've lost all interest in House, I'm almost ready to give up on Lost... Galactica is the only show i'm looking forward to.

I mean, besides Arrested Development, but we already know where that's going.

I'd heard rumors that AD may be moving to Showtime, has anyone heard anything about that?

From Yahoo News

Word around town this week is that Showtime is in talks to pick up the comedy about a chaotic family. Sources stressed that the talks are still exploratory and that it would be a big financial commitment on Showtime's part to pick up the show in its current form with a large ensemble cast that includes
Jason Bateman, Jeffrey Tambor, Portia de Rossi, Jessica Walter and Will Arnett

It's an expensive show to produce, but i don't see why they couldn't do it if they reduced the number of episodes produced per season... i'd be happy with 13 episodes a year, i mean, we're getting less than that anyway!

There is an OTHER option, buster. I voted Battlestar, which is the best thing on TV since X-Files, imo.

I voted for Scrubs... It is definitely the most underrated show on television and I am hoping that this year they will win a few Emmy's. I LOVE everything about this show... The characters are very likeable and have a wonderful chemistry. The writing is witty & the plots are brilliant. I especially love the clever sarcastic lines delivered by Dr Cox in every episode. I recently purchased seasons 1 & 2 on DVD & I have to say that I can watch it over and over without getting bored. (the extras are especially funny) The narration by Zach Braff always ties the episodes together with a perfect combination of humor & staidness. I wish this show would get more of the love it deserves.....

I didn't include Lost because it is drivel.

No, actually I didn't include Lost because I don't watch it and forgot about it.

I'm not changing the poll, just vote other.

I didn't include Doctor Who because it's a UK show and I'm an American and therefore unable to acknowledge anything that isn't on American TV.

I'm not changing the poll, just vote other.

I'm in a bad mood today.

me too.

it's the year 2006, we are LIVING IN THE FUTURE! I always assumed things would get better after the year 2000. Well, six years later and life still sucks.

Anyway.

Athena, i think Scrubs gets the attention it deserves, I always thought it was a really popular show. Doesn't it get good ratings?

I really liked the first season, but started to get irritated after the second. It gets more and more cartoony every year. I guess I always wished they'd play that show straight... Like The Office.

Enough with the cutsey.

Any show starring ME in the background is definitely worth waiting for. Even if my mates did see me in a top Soap show where I was apparently talking to myself in a bar.

second, cocksucker!

but BSG is a close 2nd

Lost has been good but not nearly at the level it was at last year.
Personally, I'm an atheist in the voting booth and a theist in the movie theatre. I separate the morality of religion with the spirituality and solace of it. There is something boring about atheism.

RIP Richard DeAngelis (The Wire's Col. Raymond Foerster). He has passed away at the age of 73 of congestive heart failure.

hey why isn't Tru Calling on this list?

what?

what do you mean that show was canceled then brought back then canceled again 3 episodes later? I thought Dushka was just making a movie or something.

Also why isn't Fear available on DVD yet? it's been like 3 years since MTV had it's ass sued off because of that show and scare tactics just isn't doing it for me (except that one episode where they pick up the hitchhiker and he fake stabs the driver and the guy in the back seat starts punching the shit out of the actor in tha passenger seat, that was awesome. That poor actor will never do another scare tactics episode, I bet)

I voted Scrubs but only because beauty and the geek wasn't on that list :D

Scrubs does get good ratings but there seems to be alot of mixed emotions about it (as with most shows)... I think Scrubs should have won some Emmy's and I'm disappointed they aren't getting any love there...

2003 Soprano's swept the awards
2004 Arrested Development swept (I don't get the hype surrounding Arrested Development.... I really cannot stand that show and I have tried several times to watch it)
2005 Everybody Loves Raymond and Desperate Housewives were the big winners... (I think Everybody Loves Raymond won only because it was their last season-Send them out with a bang..ya know???)

Anyway.... Maybe next year they will win ONE Emmy...:(

Voted "Other" for the end of AD. Best show on TV and the most underrated since Firefly. (thank you Fox!). My wife and I had our own AD Marathon over New Year's weekend. Watched all of season 1 and half of Season 2. :-)

Oh, and Entourage is boring, trite and overrated.

Just my opinon.

If Arrested Development gets picked up by Showtime or anyone else, it will be the best last minute move/salvation of a show since The Lord of the Rings went from Miramax to New Line. Please oh please, pick it up Showtime and you'll get every fucking fan of the show as a new subscriber.

As for shows that I'm looking forward to watching: The Shield and Monk BABY!!
