Spoilers

I've just seen this episode, quite a good one yet again although not enough Baltar and Tigh for my tastes, Starbuck went hardcore on us for a second with the mirror which was unexpected. Anybody got any theories for what the weird Cylon doctor did to her womb/ovaries, and where they might take the story with it? Is she going to surrogate mother the child of Baltar and number 6?

I was surprised how much I enjoyed the episode, considering it focused on Kara (who I didn't really like until now) and the lack of Baltar. I'm really hating Tigh, death could not come soon enough.

In his podcast, Moore said that the doc took at least one of Kara's ovaries. I think CapBoomer is still Baltar/Six "surrogate." Although, now that CapBoomer is on the human's side, it might get a tad bit harder for Baltar to take the baby away from her. Assuming she is actually pregnant, I've still got doubts. But I know she loves Helo (and yes, I believe the Cylons can love). Next episode will probably be the turning point for that storyline, I hope.

My favorite part: Adama telling Tyrol that he'll see Boomer again. "There are many copies." Way to fuck with his head.

Maybe the Cylons will creat a Toaster Clone of StarBuck with her ovary? Will Doc Baltar take a look at her plumbing, number 6 thenl tell him whats happened (they have impregnated her with some kind of Cylon) only for him to keep the information to himself and tell Starbuck she's pregnant with a human baby, either his or that other dudes (I think Baltar pulled out when she called out for Apollo and it was a while ago)

I will be pissed if Kara's pregnant. Here's why: she doesn't want a kid and I don't even think she would have one to help re-populate, but television conventions (even on this show) won't allow her to abort. I don't want an abortion rehash (Maude was fucking 20 years ago), but I just don't think Moore has the balls to be that true to the character of Kara.

As for creating a clone, she'd still have to grow up, right? I was under the impression that the humanCylons were birthed and raised instead of created as adults. I could totally be wrong about that, but considering that they are so biologically close to humans, how could that be constructed?

Some TWoP posters are theorizing that Anders (the other dude of John's post) could be a Cylon. I don't think so, but whatever we can do to fuck Kara up more seems to be the rallying cry of her character.

Finally, no more Caprica. For awhile at least. I was thinking they looking to make Starbuck-cylon too. I almost thought that were gonna have an imposter Starbuck leave the planet and fool everyone. But alas, it was not meant to be. Next week's is gonna be the shit.

Sorry Lyra for calling Anders the other dude, I don't normally remember characters names until I like them, and he didn't do very much really. I think you must be a bigger fan than me if you watch the show with a podcast, you truly are a geek.

As for the humanCylons being raised from birth as Humans, I remember Boomer saying something about an accident that killed her parents and most of her towm possibly, I assumed she was replaced or just made up with the accident as a cover story. I mean didn't the Cylons leave 40 years ago? Tighs wife is older than that and she might be a Cylon? Number 6, and the other 2 main Cylons are all in their 30's so the plan would of had to be quite old, I get the impression it's all been planned in the last 4-6 years but I could be well wrong.

I didn't like the episode... The whole, "Starbuck in love" thing felt forced. And Helo accepting Boomer seemed a little rushed.

I think this was basically a stall and a setup for next week.

Overall tho, this season's shaping up to be better than the first.

Unless wonkabar is correct, and we're going to have another "V" girl.

How cool is it that Boomer will be back on Galactica in love with Helo instead of Tyrol. Nice twist.

I don't think we have to worry about preggers Starbuck. I bet they took that ability away from her, Scully style.

And Helo is so cool. I wish I could be him.

Good call Burl. I hadn't even thought of that yet. And what's up with Adama? It seems like he's got some weird thing for her too.

I think Adama knows they are more complicated than just good or evil. He does realize that the old Boomer totally destroyed a basestar... that says something about them, and he is probably intrigued.

No, I think it's more than that, he's got a special connection with Boomer. He's got a special connection with all his crew. He's hand picked almost everyone. Think back to the miniseries, when they were going to decommission the Galactica. His crew are his children, his family.

And Lyra, if you're six and I'm Balter...

I know it's not a very popular idea and a lot of evidence points the other way, but I want Adama to be a Cylon. In fact, I think that there's some evidence for his Cylonness besides Leoben telling Roslin. If he is, I don't think he knows it. If probably doesn't help that I'm not as taken with EJO as most, but I want these emotional changes to mean more than "I got shot and all I got were these complicated human feelings about the person who shot me and will help humanize me as a character."

John-Locke:

Thanks. I'm not here for nothing.

I got the feeling that the plan was as old as the Cylon war, otherwise why would they have attacked in the first place? I have faith that the Cylons are much smarter than we give them credit for.

And Lyra, if you're six and I'm Balter...

Yeah, when Adama said "you'll meet her again....there are many copies." I know it wasn't meant to be, but it somehow came off as cylon-esque to me. I doubt however, that Moore plans deviate THAT MUCH from the old show. Boomer a cylon, sure. ADAMA? That would be hardcore.

I don't think we'll know if Adama is a cylon for quite a while. The writers are smart. That's the kind of question they can leave unanswered for years.

They'll just keep dropping little hints that will keep us guessing.

Imagine after the third or fourth season, all the lists that will be made. Proof that Adama is a Cylon, Proof that Adama isn't a Cylon.

I want proof that you are Canadian.

As I watch this show I wonder about this universe alot. Where did the cylons go when they left the Colonies? Do they have a home planet? Can I see it? PLS? And can it not look like Vancouver?

I am glad they are filling in some holes as to why the Cylons are doing what they are doing, but I do actually enjoy the idea that there is this wall of destruction on the trail of the galactica with reasons that might be far too esoteric for humanity to even comprehend. All the baby stuff is cool and interesting in a sci-spiritual kind of way (reminds me of Dune in this regard), but I hope we get back to more running and fighting soon.

And when do they get to the casino planet?

I would assume the Cylons have a home planet. And I'm also guessing we're going to get to see it... Probably in the last season. One person will have to go to the Cylon home world, as an ambassador or something. Personally, I don't see this series ending with the Cylons being wiped out. It will end with an understanding between humans and cylons.

IMHO.

And when we do see the Cylon home world (in my head, it's called, "cy-land") it WILL NOT look like Vancouver.

It will look like Yellowknife.

i rented the Battlestar "movie" they made (combination of eps. 1 2 and 5 or something like that) back in '78.

Gonna watch it, and see how it compares.

Wish me luck.
