Supergirl Trailer Analysis: Easter Eggs and References to the DC Comics Universe
Briley Kenney wrote:You have to pay close attention to the early montage, to see this one.

That’s Dean Cain from the Lois and Clark TV series and Helen Slater from the Supergirl movie, playing Kara’s foster parents. This is a symbolic ‘passing of the torch’ akin to John Wesley-Shipp playing Henry Allen — Barry’s father — in The Flash since he played Barry in the original series from the 90’s.

'Supergirl' Bosses Explain the Major Premiere Villain Twist
[Warning: This story contains spoilers from the series premiere of CBS' Supergirl.]
Sydney Bucksbaum wrote:Supergirl also is set to debut the DC Comics villain Non, a former scientist in a league with the House of El. Transporter: The Series star Chris Vance will take on the role as the brutal, sinister Kryptonian military officer who is the antithesis of everything Supergirl stands for. Non will quickly become Kara's greatest threat.

"The Non in the comic books is not what you saw in Superman II," Kreisberg says. "That Non in Superman II had been lobotomized. When we meet him, he will not have been lobotomized yet so our take on this character is sort of a prequel to the Superman II mythos."

I've been keeping up with this, just as a matter of interest.

Smallville started off great, tailed off to crapness in areas, then arose to some brilliant moments.

This so far is not giving me the charm, the storytelling or the love of Smallville.

To be fair, I was half expecting Supergirl to be an independent, strong woman but all I've seen is some weak willed man hunting, clichéd character this has done nothing to move the TV series in a different direction.

It's hackneyed writing and mediocre storytelling.

'Supergirl' Renewed for Second Season — at The CW
The news comes as producer Warner Bros. Television also is moving the DC Comics drama to Vancouver in a bid to reduce costs.

TV Producer of the Year Greg Berlanti: "I Still Fight About Everything"
As prolific as Shonda, Ryan and Chuck, the lower-profile showrunner behind today’s network hits ('Blindspot') and hunky superheroes ('The Flash,' 'Arrow') is not too big to keep pushing Hollywood's comfort zone on sexuality, abortions and so-called taboos.

'Supergirl' Will Introduce Superman in Season 2
Sydney Bucksbaum wrote:The Hollywood Reporter has learned that the former CBS series will introduce the iconic DC Comics superhero when it moves to The CW in the fall. Superman will first be seen visiting his cousin Kara (Melissa Benoist) in National City at the beginning of the series’ second season. The role is currently being cast.

"Greg [Berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl," said executive producer Andrew Kreisberg. "Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season, and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!"

A young Kal-El, played by Daniel DiMaggio, was already seen in season one in flashbacks to Kara's life on Krypton, but this version will be the grown man the world already knows as Superman.

The casting will bring Superman back to The CW following the WB Network's former Tom Welling drama Smallville.

HO-hum.

The only hope for this show is if Tom Welling show's up and it becomes the Superman show with Supergirl.

The season was so tedious with horrid teen angst that it was just silly.

I was hoping for Supergirl to be a more mature show than what we got.

Deadline June 16, 2017: ‘Supergirl’ Co-Creator Ali Adler Inks CBS TV Studios Overall Deal, Joins ‘Dynasty’
While she is leaving Supergirl full-time, Adler will remain involved in the show as executive consultant.
Nellie Andreeva wrote:Ali Adler, co-creator, executive producer and co-showrunner of the CW/Warner Bros TV series Supergirl, is heading to CBS TV Studios, where she has signed an overall deal. Under the pact — Adler’s first overall agreement — she will develop new projects for CBS Studios and also will consult on the studio’s new CW drama series Dynasty, a reboot of the hit primetime soap. While she is leaving Supergirl full-time, Adler will remain involved in the show as executive consultant.

Adler co-created Supergirl, based on the DC characters, alongside Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg. She served as an executive producer/co-showrunner with Kreisberg on the series for its first two seasons, one on CBS and one on the CW.

Adler previously co-created and executive produced with Ryan Murphy the NBC comedy series The New Normal and worked on such series as Glee, Chuck and Family Guy.

As an author, Adler published the book How to F*ck A Woman last year. She is repped by WME and attorney Jared Levine.
