In this thread shouldn't it be "frak corn"?

Speaking of, it cracks me up that they get to cuss on the show by using that word. At first it just sounded like some word they made up to reinforce that they all come from another planet but then someone got called a "motherfrakker" and it was all OH! that's what it is. I wonder how many meetings they had with the network over that.

Go away for a couple of days and everything is different. Fuck corn?

Tyrone, I heard a "frak" in the episode about the baby factory, but they actually said "motherfraker"?

Family is nice. I guess I'm the brother who only shows up on holidays and is the recipient of false smiles from the parents and dressings-down from the other siblings.

alright Wonkabar, I know that all BG "haters" suck, but what about the BG "meh" people like me? No matter how hard i try, i just can't get into this show in a big way. I don't hate it, but i don't like it either. its just meh for me. I fell asleep halfway thru this past friday's episode, and i don't care.

Awesome show. Plain and simple.

First arc= Finding the route to Earth.

Second Arc= Getting to Earth

The third arc should be liberating the colonies of the survivors (a la the Pyramid Team on Caprica).

Then get to earth with the full on fleet and find Earth in our time. Bush is president, technology the same etc. And then a Raptor lands on the White House lawn, a la The Day the Earth Stood Still (I believe it was the White House lawn. I have to re-watch the film for confirmation). Then, they shoot Bush, Adama takes over and WE ALL WIN!!!

Yummy.

J/K. Seriously, they need to keep the discovery of Earth far in the distance so that the show won't frak the daggett, so to say.

Thanks to our beloved bulbittl, I have now seen the last episode.

Wow. This was a really powerful experience, and I am not ashamed to admit the reunion of Adama and Apollo did indeed produce a single Demi Moore-like tear.

John, the Imperious Leader was the leader of the cylons and Baltar was his human ambassador. There are probably others who know more about it, but I can give you this:

Image

That's what he looked like. But in the original the Cylons were actually the product of some unseen lizard race or something.

it was one season, so long ago.

John!

BSG is on tonight!

Wait up to watch it!

That Xena chick is on tonight and she looks pretty shitty with the blond hair. Hopefully, that won't ruin the episode for me.

Oh, and if there is one more slow clap of death, then I will stop watching. Just warning ya BSG.

I didn't know what you meant by "slow clap of death" for a minute there, then I figured it out. You are spot on, those type of moments always suck. It's like the obligatory Salute at the end of a Military Film.

I should tonights episode ty Tomorrow night, how much do you want to bet that Lucy Lawless will be a Toaster.

Hol. Leeee. Shit.

That was one of the most amazing hours of science fiction I have ever had the pleasure of watching.

If you didn't get a little bit misty when THAT music started playing at the end of Xena's report, then you are an inhuman animal.

And fuck you, Lyra... Xena looks fucking hot on toast with that hair.

You must really be hard up for good SF then. :) It was good, maybe even great, but RL interfered so I wasn't able to totally pay attention. I'll have to rewatch (or watch for the first time) to know for sure.

Um, what music? Cuz I did see the end and could see how it was all touching and shit, but I didn't pick up on any music.

They played the music from the old show. The fact that you didn't notice shows just how well it fits with drama of the new show. Again, I would love for this to be done on a more regular basis. Lyra....just bought that "Golden Compass" book...really digging it so far....thanks

Don't use ALF, it's not nice, nor accurate. If you need to use a term like that, use 'person with developmental disablity'. :D

And it wasn't b/c you are queer, it's b/c you're a man that you can't judge women's looks properly. No man can, queers come closest, but I can tell by your record that you are not one of them. :P Xena with blond hair looks skanky & shifty, which seemed to work with the character since she's a Cylon, but no professional woman that takes herself seriously (and wants others to) would have hair like that.

Of course, that was a generality and it was wrong of me to use one. It seems like I'm not getting anywhere in this thread, am I? That's ok, I actually like the episode once I saw it and will continue to watch BSG for another week.

It's a regular conundrum. If you're looking at classic or even respected fiction, even solid film and TV usually have to struggle to keep up.

But queers long ago embraced the word "queer." And, as Michael Thomas Ford wrote, "That's Mr. F@ggot to You".

Please. There was no condemnation. I was just sharing my teacher-speak with the vast ignorant multitudes. But truthfully, the only two words that I hate when used as slang are retard and g@y. Everything else is fine by me (just not the institution I work for, so ya, problems there).

Okay, I'm back in.

And all it took was an episode that put my boy Tyrol front and center. :D

Although I can't tell you how many times I yelled, "Fuck you (insert character name here)!" at the tv screen.
Oh, yes, I can. It was 7.

And what was with the giving away of the whole new ship plot in the fucking preview?!? I knew because I'm a spoiler whore, but damn, couldn't they at least try to not give away major plot points?

And why we're on the topic of SciFi shows...I just started watching Stargate this season (and I'm using the term watching loosely), but WTF is with the blond lady? Does she have a personality? or any acting ability whatsoever? or someone who could actually make her look like less mannequinish? I'm not trying to be mean (I know there are a few people here that really like this show) so I'm just asking out of pure curiosity because she is losing the show for me. And I really liked the first few episodes. I guess Ben Browder isn't enough to get me to watch anything. :(

Don't mess with Amanda Tapping.

Stick to the girls of BSG.

You have been warned.
