Of course I'm having fun. That's why I called us family.
You people have already carved a space in my heart. And fuck ya'll for doing so.

You must really be hard up for good SF then.burlivesleftnut wrote:Hol. Leeee. Shit.
That was one of the most amazing hours of science fiction I have ever had the pleasure of watching.
Um, what music? Cuz I did see the end and could see how it was all touching and shit, but I didn't pick up on any music. If you didn't get a little bit misty when THAT music started playing at the end of Xena's report, then you are an inhuman animal.
How would you know? Neither boats, nor other men are appropriate parallels to a woman. So please, leave the professional woman-bashing to the woman. And fuck you, Lyra... Xena looks fucking hot on toast with that hair.
They played the music from the old show. The fact that you didn't notice shows just how well it fits with drama of the new show. Again, I would love for this to be done on a more regular basis. Lyra....just bought that "Golden Compass" book...really digging it so far....thankslyra belacqua wrote:Um, what music? That was one of the most amazing hours of science fiction I have ever had the pleasure of watching. It was good, maybe even great, but RL interfered so I wasn't able to totally pay attention. I'll have to rewatch (or watch for the first time) to know for sure.

But, lyra, how can we trust a fiona apple fan?

Don't be ALF. Just because of I'm queer doesn't mean I don't know what a beautiful woman looks like. Sheesh. You need to get away from the kids for a bit. Xena with blond hair was bitchin' sexy.

And it wasn't b/c you are queer, it's b/c you're a man that you can't judge women's looks properly. No man can, queers come closest, but I can tell by your record that you are not one of them.Xena with blond hair looks skanky & shifty, which seemed to work with the character since she's a Cylon, but no professional woman that takes herself seriously (and wants others to) would have hair like that.

I concede, you can't. However, I am teaching SF in one of my classes, so guess I'm just comparing to higher standard. I could, of course, be wrong.

Please. There was no condemnation. I was just sharing my teacher-speak with the vast ignorant multitudes. But truthfully, the only two words that I hate when used as slang are retard and g@y. Everything else is fine by me (just not the institution I work for, so ya, problems there).
lyra belacqua wrote:And why we're on the topic of SciFi shows...I just started watching Stargate this season (and I'm using the term watching loosely), but WTF is with the blond lady? Does she have a personality? or any acting ability whatsoever? or someone who could actually make her look like less mannequinish? I'm not trying to be mean (I know there are a few people here that really like this show) so I'm just asking out of pure curiosity because she is losing the show for me. And I really liked the first few episodes. I guess Ben Browder isn't enough to get me to watch anything.
