Is it planned to run like last season? Come in mid-season and run two new episodes a night for the first half?

Does anyone know why the show gets treated like that? I can't think of another long-running show that gets handled so by it's network. It's kinda sad. I'm not saying Scrubs is the perfect or best show on the air. But it has been on the most consistently funny shows for it's past 5 seasons. Why the half-assed love?

Get this -- I never saw an episode of "Scrubs" until just earlier this week, when they ran two back-to-back. I'd heard good things; I just never had a chance to catch it.

Holy shit, that is some of the funniest damn TV I've seen since the premiere of "My Name Is Earl."

Maybe you've been seeing promos on Comedy Central, stating how they're going to be showing the reruns every night, starting September 18th. Gives us latecomers a chance to get caught up.

New season episodes? Couldn't tell ya.

Leave it to NBC to screw stupidly with the only decent comedy they have.
The scheduling nonsense NBC foisted upon this fine series is utterly brainless.
But - they did it with Homicide:Life on the Streets too.....wankers.

It's felt weak to me, too. In both direction and writing, the first few episodes have seemed... well, they reminded me of that episode where they treat a TV writer and the show transforms into a typical sitcom. It's still better than other sitcoms, but this time it's unfortunately not satire.

The last couple of episodes have been more on-track though, IMO.

After a hit and miss season 6 (IMO) Scrubs has had more laugh out loud moments this season than it has in a long time (I cracked the fuck up at the Space Invaders with waterballoons thing a couple of weeks ago). It's now beginning that slow transition toward the series finale.

SPOILERS!!!!

Last night's episode was probably the best ever. Damn fine television.

They should start loading Emmy Awards into a catapult and begin hurling them at Ken Jenkins just for that episode alone.

Its going to have a season 7 on ABC. The writers strike was going to leave the series not ending correctly so ABC said theyd finish it up.

It's fantastic that'll be able to end properly. Although apparently ABC will have to wait till NBC's airing rights expire before showing any new episodes.

Another great episode...possibly up there with "My Lunch" and "My Screw Up".

I think the episode was originally going to be scrapped seeing as it sucked huge balls and all. NBC probably aired it as a season finale in order to taint the show before it moved to ABC. Maybe Zach Braff demanded it be aired because he directed it and he was too bemused with himself to realize how much cock that episode sucked.

Actually according to some interviews I read with Bill Lawerence they loved the episode and after the writers strike canceled the remaining episodes they decided to air it last as it was one of their most ambitious. SO it was Lawerence and Co. that fd up continuity for something they liked but in reality sucked huge not just any balls but donkey balls.

The problem was it tried to be a riff on Princess Bride but because it spent too much time in the hospital and how the story was shaped (instead of letting us figure it out for ourselves) it managed to undercut the tension or really even carting about the patient and so neither plot felt fully thought out and just ended up feeling pointless.

me too. It didn't help that my DVR cut off the first minute or so of the ep so I thought that Dr. Kelso being back in charge was somehow addressed in the first minute of the episode.

It definitely wasn't good, but it was somewhat ambitious and different (and wasn't any worse than the musical episode...which blew). I like that Scrubs tries these things. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't, but at least they give it a shot. It's something that they need to do because the formula itself has been pretty much the same for the past 7 years.

Speaking of which, did you guys catch the lines between Cox, JD and Jordan in the previous ep (which i really liked)?

Cox: "What are you doing?"

JD: "I'm using slices from everyone else's lives to solve my own problems."

Jordan: "Seems coincidental"

JD: "and yet I do it almost every week..."

The "NBC Finale" might have sucked, but I don't care, overall this has been one of Scrubs' better seasons and I'm glad that we have a Season 8 to finish it up...

I watched it and didn't think the quality was all that different from when I quit watching the show. I really enjoyed the first few years of the series, but while the show didn't exactly turn into a crapfest, it slipped enough to whereI found it easy to not bother watching the show until one day I never watched at all. This episode reminded me of "Atomic Shakespeare" sans the wit and music. ;)
