Who here is a die hard fan of the original Power Rangers? None of that Turbo funny business, I am talking about the real meat and potatoes here. I am a child of the 90s and I worship the Power Rangers. Is it cheesy? Of course, cheesy goodness.

I watched it when I was a kid but I remember resenting it as I thought then that it was insulting my intelligents.

The only really cool thing was the giant dinosaur vehicles which could join together, but even then you never saw enough of it.

Id switch over and put transormers on and watch something with decent childhood kung fu moves in

dude, I'm 20, so I was the ideal age when the original Power Rangers was on. I had all the toys, remember going to see the movie, I was so fucking into it. And then at some moment I realised it was kinda lame... and then I moved to New Zealand where it's banned. Funnily enough it's now filmed here, but the ban remains.

The pink ranger was a girl.
The yellow ranger was asian.
The black ranger was black.

Subtle stuff.

I dunno.

I'm trying to remember if the girls in it were saucy or not.

edit - after Wiki'ing, looks like the Asian girl died, rather tragically...

I saw both Power Rangers movies. In theaters.

While it was incredibly cheesy and waaaaay too concerned with delivering the moral of the week instead of advancing character or plot, I always loved the concept of the show and wished they had the balls to go a little more Green Lantern with the whole thing.

BTW, I'm moving to Coaxial.

And still way hot.

JJ Abrams played a joke on her in Felicity's first season. At the Halloween party that year, the boy she liked was flirting with some girl dressed up as the Pink Ranger, and her character got all pissed. Funny stuff.

Just a side note here...tvmakesyougod, the guy who started this thread, is in fact my little brother.

We talk about the Zone all of the time so it looks like he might be joining us.

Paris plays Power Rangers constnatly...and its in english...thats what drove him to start this thread in the zone. We have been talking about it a lot lately.

Thanks for giving him a fair welcome here in the Zone.

Ha!

Even though he is my "little brother" he isn't exactly "little". He is 18.

He is going to film school after high school. He should fit in just fine here.

As for Dazed and Confused...do all of you folks have your paddles ready? Nothing like homosexual hazing rituals.

He knows how many kids got their first nut off to the pink ranger, and it pleases him like his shit was roses.

I remember catching a few episodes just to laugh hysterically because I always in my mind viewed the main villainess(forgot her name) as Yoko Ono. An elaborately dressed asian woman attempting to break up a super-group. I sense a pattern here......... Oh yeah, and the criminally underused Scorpina chick was hot.

I still have a massive soft spot for this show.. even watching it now on repeats knowing its just out there crappy kid fun. Though my hero worship of the Green Ranger as a kid has been justified by Jason David Frank's MMA career.

I for one, will be attending the POWERMORPHICON in August
