She's the blonde witch/head of the village in BD. Don't really want to give much away but would you say Dillane could do stern, stoic and puritanical well?

I have no idea, Jefferson was a bit stern but he was also a very compassionate character. I wouldn't worry though, the GoT casting dept haven't dropped the ball yet.

Davos has been cast

He was terribly wooden in that shitty BBC show Outcasts but he was great in Hunger and good in everything else I've seen him in.

And Harry Brown, don't forget Harry Brown!

Yeah I like that guy, I've seen him in a bunch of stuff I can't recall off the top of my head. I don't know what the character he's playing is supposed to be like, but I'm down for him being involved with Game of Thrones.

I've pre-ordered Season 1 on bluray from Amazon.com. There's no announced release date yet. Has anyone heard any buzz about when this is gonna be released?

Dinklage with the win! Bravo . . .

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/44576104/ ... rtainment/

Peter Dinklage thrown by 'Game of Thrones' Emmy win
'Esteem issues' kept actor from preparing speech ahead of time

Peter Dinklage picked up his first ever Emmy for his role as Tyrion Lannister in HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” and while he came across charming and polished while giving his acceptance speech, the actor was anything but ready just before his name was called.

Story: 'Modern Family' wins big at the Emmys
“There’s some really good actors up there who could just have easily been holding this,” Peter told Access Hollywood backstage at the awards ceremony, referring to his competition on Sunday night.

Peter said he did not expect to win at all. “Definitely not me,” he said when asked who he expected to win. “Esteem issues.”

In his speech, Peter delighted the crowd as he praised “GOT” producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, his own pregnant wife, Erica Schmidt, and someone back home, but none of his words were planned.

He told Access he didn’t prepare a speech.

“No, God, no. I forgot to thank my manager. I was thanking my dog sitter before my manager,” he said. “It’s a blur when you get up there. It’s a lot of people.”

The actor only has a short while to celebrate before he heads back overseas to continue production on Season 2 of the series.

“It’s a lot of fun to go to work. We’re shooting the second season right now,” he said. “I gotta go back to Belfast (on) Tuesday, so, yeah, it’s fun, a lot of fun.”

And on a related note, Peter opened his acceptance speech by remarking about following Martin Scorsese, who picked up a Best Directing nod just before Peter’s category was announced. Backstage, Access’ cameras caught the two as they met, both congratulating each other heartily.

Season 1 finished here yesterday and I really enjoyed it. Yes, it got a little bit silly at times in terms of titilation (like that 5 minutes long lesbian sex scene that was there for no other reason than HBO is allowed to show it) and that by the end of the season, three of my favourite characters were dead, was a little bit frustrating to me, but it was a very enjoyable and engaging show, with a great cast. (Especially in the later episodes, where suddenly Charles Dance, the janitor from the HARRY POTTER movies and even German/Turkish pornstar-turned-award-winning-character-actress Sibel Kekilli showed up.) I was also really impressed by the kids actors. I can imagine that its a pain in the ass to shoot such a show with untested youngsters in important keay roles, so that they were able to get such good performances out of them, makes it thrice as impressive.

My favourite storyline was without a doubt the Targaryen/Dothraki story and while I hated to see Kahl Drogo go out like that, the overall payoff of that story made me cheer. Can't wait for season 2.

A new teaser for the show, featuring part of what is apparently a famous riddle from A Clash of Kings:

Season 2 starts on April 1st.

And I haven't even read one of the books! (and probably won't)

Good LORD, I finally get in here and it's a friggin' ghost town!

Liked the premiere, but the intro of Stannis and crew was so damn mishandled and rushed. Very clunky. They shoe-horned in Cressen's first AND LAST appearance into the premiere w/out even giving his name!

The ball should be rolling nicely from here on though . . .

love this show, has replaced Deadwood as my favorite tv series, will probably start reading the books after this season but don't want to get ahead of HBO because that would probably detract from how much I enjoy the show without knowing what has been left out or changed

More love for this show. I actually have no desire to get into the books, though. I'm content with what I'm given, which is odd for me. Lord of the Rings had me racing through the series after watching the first film.
I like Tyrion's verbal facepunches to everyone these first two episodes - his sister, Joffrey, and the guy that ordered the arrest of Ned Stark - ESPECIALLY that guy.
Speaking of Ned, loved the exchange between his youngest daughter and the bastard guy after the thugs showed up with a warrant.

I love this show too. Without giving away too much, no spoilers in other words, what's the deal with Melisandre? She's the one character I sort of don't get at this point.

as someone who hasn't read the books I am speculating as much as you, I am looking forward to her background being fleshed out, I want to know where she is from, how she gained her powers, where did she get that amulet and just what can it do, and if she is working with someone else......and people who have read the books just keep that shit to yourselves, don't ruin it for the rest of us

Not long ago I could have sworn I saw two different actors listed for the Mountain on imdb, thinking he might have been recast.

Now I can't find that, in fact I can't find anything about who played him in the episode you apparently saw.

What am I doing in this thread anyway I can't watch the second season for at least a year?

Who/what was the Mountain? I honestly don't remember this last night.

Not knowing the books, I really do hope Tyrion ends up being the only sane Lannister - and by "sane" I really mean "good". It's not that he's choosing one side over the other, but rather that he is choosing what it right over what is wrong.... what is fair over what is unjust.

Fuck I hate Joffrey.

oh, well, I guess it could be a different actor, hard to tell with him wearing his helmet and he looked similar enough to the Mountain of last season that I didn't scrutinize his face any further. I didn't take the question to be about that, I thought it was about the character

the Mountain was the guy who was making the picks of who was to be tortured with the bucket and rat technique where Aria is being held prisoner along with the remnants of the recruits that were headed to the wall to join the Night's Watch. remember how the f@t kid was saying how looking the Mountain in the eye would ensure he wouldn't pick someone, and then the Mountain picked the one other dude who tried it  and then Aria added the Mountain to her list of names of people she is planning to kill that she recites every night

Oh crap, just watched a clip from the first season where the Mountain was jousting. Forgot ALL about that!! Wow. Probably should have rewatched the first season. Thanks!
