Teenwolf Remake - yep... you read that right!

The greatest TV in history is being made right now. The worst TV in history is being made right now.

Teenwolf Remake - yep... you read that right!

Postby silentbobafett on Tue Mar 27, 2007 5:56 am

And it stars Tom Welling... which I can see... :-)

New TV Superman Tom Welling has given the Teen Wolf film franchise a boost after reportedly signing on for a new movie. In the new Teen Wolf, a remake of Michael J. Fox's 1985 movie, the fun-loving werewolf of the title will be played by a female. Website DarkHorizons.com reports that Smallville star Welling will be part of the supporting cast of the new film.

---------

I honestly can see Welling playing the part... but the problem is... he ain't no MJ Fox - who is just the fucking DON! So... sheesh... a fucking remake of Teen Wolf! :-0 lol

Next it'll be a remake of 'Attack of the Killer Tomatos'...

Do you read your own sources? It says he's not playing the werewolf but a member of the supporting cast. The wolf is going to be a chick..oh how original.

ALF. Hairy chicks aren't attractive. However, I remember that Fox was out on the prowl and looking to get some in his film. Let's hope this chick is affected the same way.

I absolutely loathed that movie when it came out, and it got a sequel AND a TV spinoff. Now they're remaking it. Sometimes I feel as if there's something deeprooted in popculture that I'm just not getting.

They should have made a sequel where teenwolf travels back in time in his Delorean and stops his ancestors from procreating. Who wouldn't love that?

considering how the issues of Dumbledore marriage and homophobia are at such a forefront today, now seems like the right time for a remake of 'teen wolf'

how they're going to handle those homosexual themes with a female teen wolf, though, i'm not sure. perhaps they're going for the lesbian angle this time?

I'm guessing this might be because of "Ginger Snaps"...though in some cases, a girl-type werewolf has been done right, like the action figure Howling Wolfinica and an episode of "Big Wolf on Campus" where his gal pal has been kidnapped by evil werewolves and turned into one.

I loved the Ginger Snaps series! It gave me hope that female lycans can be sexy again after being horrified by seeing Julie Delpy's hairy wolf boobies in An American Werewolf in Paris.

There was absolutely NOTHING wrong with the original Teen Wolf. It ain't broke, don't fix it.

Let's be honest, here. You aren't going to get anyone as good as the kid (who was 28 when the damn movie came out) that played Styles. He was the shit.

Remakes don't usually bother me. But when it's a complete waste of time and money... come on. I can think of a hundred things that could be remade over fuckin Teen Wolf.

Eh. If it wasn't a shitty teen comedy remake, it'd be a shitty "original" teen comedy. Either way, it's kind of a wash. "Teen Wolf" was pretty much crap so I can't imagine the remake will be any worse.

This news has me really depressed. This morning, I hate Hollywood. I hate, hate, hate Hollywood. I live in the San Fernando Valley and I can SMELL Hollywood from here, and I HATE it.

I mean, you'd think, with all the money in Hollywood, that it would attract people who are actually talented and creative. People with great new ideas and the ability to turn them into wonderful films. But NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! The money just goes to people who remake and copy.

I have a totally original idea for a movie I think will be popular: In ancient times, a small band of brave warriors - call them, um, Spurtans - make a heroic last stand against a huge army of, um, call them Pursians. I bet it'll make a mint!

Ginger Snaps Back (the only one I've seen) falls firmly into low-B category. It starts out as something kind good, gets better as it goes along, then sort of just turns into a mess of a cliche horror movie. You know, the whole "I was an innocent, scared hot blonde, but now that I've JUST turned into a Vampire, I am hot, sexy, badass, and walk around like the BAMF that a hot blonde Vampire should be." Replace Vampire for Werewolf and you kinda have it.

I've always hated that with Vampire stuff. "I'm a human wuss. Ah, I've been bitten! Hey, I'm a Vampire badass!" At least Interview With The Vampire got it right.

They're worth checking out if you enjoyed the first one...
The second one is kind of a direct sequel...

It deals with the Brigitte (Ginger's sister) for the most part and her "adventures/hell" after the whole ordeal of the first one...

Ginger herself plays a limited role - mostly as a voice in Brigitte's head/ghost/figment of Brigitte's imagination...

She's locked up in some mental hospital/battered woman's shelter kinda thing - and the whole werewolf thing takes place...

It's fun and enjoyable and has a few back and forth twists...

The 3rd one is mostly a re-hash of the first one - but it's a "prequel"
It takes place in frontier times or something like that...
Kind of a werewolf western - where it's winter and the girls stumble across a weakened fort and "shit" starts to happen...

It looks pretty and has some nice moments...

But I think the 2nd one is the best of the 2 sequels - not up there with the first - but it was actually alot better than I expected...

Teen Wolf isnt a bad film though. Its got charm and its a fun goofy movie with likable characters. Not every film has to be on the AFI 100 to be considered a good film.

So let's remake Monster Squad, eh? I mean, there was a really good, dark, violent movie in there. If you cut out absolutely everything not related directly to the scenes with Drac and the Wolfman... We need a dark adult movie about kids fighting monsters!!! I WANT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED IN THAT CLOSET WITH THOSE CHICKS WITH DRACULA, DAMMIT!!!!!

oh, Teen Wolf. how you made me crush on Michael J. Fox. you and Family Ties. everyone else was all... "ohhh, kirk cameron!" but, see... i knew then that he was evil.

whoever said that Tom would be a good Teen Wolf is delerious. clearly, the teen wolf needs to be the underdog (no pun intended). thus, when he gets his powers, everyone is all... YAY. and i know that they're making this one with a girl teen wolf. but still.

This film better have some Jason Bateman in it...

Or I will not see it...more than 3 or 4 times...

Hey...Maybe Justine Bateman is gonna be the teen wolf now...

But they'd have to change the title to Dried Out Washed Up Wolf...

The remake is gonna suck because the original had that certain "thing" you cant recapture.

I LOVE this song:

"First my clothes catch on fire
Then my car hits a tree
You might think it's a big catastrophe
Just seems normal to me

Always lookin' on the bright side
Isn't that the way to be?
You might say that's a sign of lunacy
Just comes natural to me

Uncle Sam is a commie
Russia's red, white, and blue
So the President's lost a screw or two
Anything we can do?

Time to settle back, enjoy it
Problems? They ain't nothin' new
So the world's lookin' more and more askew
What's it matter to you?..."
