Chuck

The greatest TV in history is being made right now. The worst TV in history is being made right now.

I've just finished watching the 3rd ep of this and I have to say, it is very muhc a 'by the numbers' programme but the characters are endearing.

I was hoping that the 'La cuidad' character would end up falling in love with Chuck and that she would pursue him throuh various eps in an effort to 'get some chuck luvin'.

I'm endearing to it. It's easy going and fun. It's not brilliant, it's not smart nor is is totally clever but it's certainly something decent to pass the time until Battlestar Galactica returns.

The show has a good amount of geek cred but the lack of an overall plot is definitely detrimental. Shouldnt Chuck trust Sarah more than he does at this point. It seesm they go over the same things every episode.

Ok. After now watching the 6th episode I'm really beginning to enjoy this baby.

Its quirky, it's an obvious market which they are aiming for but there are some good moments which make it seem worthwhile. I think the show is very well paced - more so than most because the action is not just saved for the climactic ending....it's all a good build up.

I still think that the females are far too pretty but...that's not neccessarily a bad thing.

Sort of. It explains the Bryce situation and why he got kicked out of Stanford.

It was a good episode, but lacked a decent bad guy. It was nice to see some actual plot development this episode though.

I'm enjoying this show more and more every week. Yes, it's silly and ridiculous in places, but it seems to do so unapologetically.

Although, it could really use a few more pictures of Anna Friel in it. Just saying.

Rachel Bilson????

Fucking SWOON!!!

One of the things I love about this show is its constant references to The OC. I think I may be the only one in the WORLD catching onto these, but that makes it even cooler.

In this episode, when Rachel Bilson is leaving the store for the first time Chuck says something that rhymes and he goes "I didn't mean for that to rhyme"...the exact situation happened to Seth on The OC. Different rhyme, but same "I didn't mean for that to rhyme" and if i am not mistaken he even said it to Rachel Bilson.

Yeah, I am a nerd (girl?). I watched the first season of The OC like a hundred times. Between this, and the references peppered throughout Gossip Girl, I am one happy OC fanboy (i may be the only one).

I recognized her name, but not her face. I had no idea who she was or why I knew the name. Now I know. I never watched The OC so I did not share in your geek moment, Lecko. I did like the episode, though I think if Harry Tang is off the show now they just missed an opportunity for some drama in the Buy More.

Yeah I don't get the logic behind getting rid of Tang. It is obvious his character was a useful foil for Chuck and co.

I did love this episode. The dude from Alias was cool, Rachel Bilson is HAWT, and the relationship with Chuck and Sarah is becoming more pronounced, which is quite good.

I just think they need to start MOVING towards something. Not just this "bad guy of the week" stuff. There needs to be a big bad revealed or some sort of mystery. It appeared after the previous episode with Stanford that they were alluding to something like that, but nothing this ep.

Yeah I liked Tang as well. What about how Buy More Boss said he gave the job to Tang because he was diddling the wife? What about that "interview?"

Seeing Kevin Weissman was cool. Never really felt like he was menacing but it was still fun.

Rachel Bilson on Chuck = AWESOME. She is teh HOT as has been stated.

Im with you lecko on more of a major story needing to develop.

Perhaps they'll have someone play a new foil.

But I agree about Tang. It anyone should go, it should be Morgan. Despite his role, he's been flat and the weakest link in the cast.

Morgan sucks. He is just, awful. I find his character to be so incredibly worthless. But they built him up so much it would be impossible to get rid of him at this point. Maybe he could die and have it be Chucks fault. Sending him into a spiral!!!

Too dark? Maybe, but necessary.

Anyone see this last episode? Kinda relationship-y but then you realize why at episode's end. Gah, I hope there's a new episode soon and this wasn't it due to the writer's strike. I hate being left hanging!

They've aired 9, and supposedly will be able to complete 13 before they run out of scripts.

However, Adam Baldwin suggests that there is some sort of cliffhanger in #13 in an interview at TV Guide.

Wow. The guy who plays Bryce is really hot.

I'm getting into this show more--maybe its just Adam Baldwin although I think Chuck and his sister are pretty cute. I really dislike Sarah, mostly because I think she's too blonde cheerleader to be a believeable CIA operative. Maybe its cliche to say so, but they need an Angelina Jolie type.

The one silly thing that really bugs me about the plot is whether or not Chuck is being compensated for his work! I mean, they've completely destroyed his life, tell me they're paying his rent or something.

There was another Tang ( or 'tang) joke tonight. I may end up rewatching the first part of the season just to see how many jokes I missed.

The show is still good for me. Adam Baldwin is my favorite - especially when he's working in the Buy More.
Sarah reminds me a lot of Portia DeRossi from Arrested Development. It's sad, but I agree with you Lady Sheridan about the blonde cheerleader bit. If it was the same girl with dark hair, her character would be more believable.

"It sounds like heaven..." Favorite Adam Baldwin line, heh.

How sad is that? I want to say it isn't because of her haircolor...but I fear it might be.

Actually, I bought the redhead (Brazilian?) chick as a backstabbing spy, because she totally had the Bond girl act down. So I'm just going to say that I think it's not the hair, but the actress. She doesn't seem threatening or smart enough. She just seems to look very worried most of the time.

Ideally though, I want to see Chuck's friends and family get pulled into this. I think it would be a nice cliffhanger and lead in for Season 2. The balancing act is going to get old quickly otherwise. And I want to see Chuck's sister become a Scully doctor type, because that would be cool. The show needs a smart girl, because Sarah isn't cutting it.

But not because she's blonde...ahem.

After seeing the actress who plays Sarah on Ferguson, I suspect she may have more in common with Portia DeRossi than both being Aussie and blonde.

Chuck is freeloading off his sister, so he doesn't need to pay rent.

Just a reminder. NBC is going to burn off the last two finished episodes tonight, at 8 and 10, sandwiching some other show whose name escapes me at the moment.

It's almost like they don't want it to come back. I think I read somewhere that the ratings for whatever reality crap they have on Mon. nights now is actually higher than the Chuck/Heroes duo.

Thank you TV for the blessing of two more episodes of Chuck. It isn't the greatest show on earth, but I've grown attached to the characters. It was nice having Chuck and the gang back for an evening. The boob cam seemed just the sort of thing the guys at Best Buy would actually be doing, and at last an episode revolving around Casey!

The page is here.

Tony Hale, who played the dismembered brother on “Arrested Development” before he became a mini-mall sidekick on “Andy Barker, P.I.,” has taken a recurring role as the Buy More’s new assistant manager on “Chuck.”

Chuck is a stupid program. I really enjoy it but I do get the feeling it's got that 'made for geeks by suits'.

Pretty girls, check.
Geek references, check.
Dorky guy gets hot girl but not quite, check.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it's certainly entertaining, but on the whole, I still feel a bit empty from the show.

I really enjoyed the first season of Chuck. I dig Chuck, Casey, and Sarah. I also love Captain Awesome and the folks at the Buy More. Morgan, however, is a horse of a different color. Most of the time I just want to throw a blunt object at his head. Ugh. They REALLY need to tame him in the second season or they are going to be trying my patience.

I am having a serious debate at the moment. Should I go to the Chuck panel or the Pushing Daisies panel at Comic-Con? A few things I am weighing: I went to the Pushing Daisies screening last year. I have a giant man crush on Josh Schwartz.

I went to this panel at the Con. You can find the panel and the footage online @ the main page. The footage looked really good. You can tell (and Josh confirmed) that the love story is the main focus of season 2. Some awesome guest stars including: Melinda Clarke and Tony Hale. Oh, and Nicole Ritchie and Yvonne have a shower fight. Yeah.

All in all, everything looks good for Chuck vs. Season 2.

Anyone catch last nights ep?

The dynamics between the characters seem to get better and better.
