I actually love Smith's delivery of that 'fear me..' line becuase it's so calm and matter of fact, like the world's most badass shaolin monk explaining exactly how and why he's going to destroy you but taking no pleasure in the act of destruction or the one upmanship itself just a simple factual pronouncement.

And because I can't just keep posting in the thread about the hotness of KG I better add something about the new series.
It looks really good don't it? Feels like a much darker tone that the last and some of the promo material (the second video Herc posted a few days ago for example) look downright sinister, and that's just The Doctor. I assume there are spoiler out there but I'm really trying to avoid them - so does anyone have any non confirmed theories about River Song, who's she killed etc etc? It feels almost too obvious to be The Doctor at this point, but then Rory is the only avalaible option at the point and for all his gallantry it'd be hard Song to call him "the greatest man I've ever known".

Not seen either of her two spin-off shows (she was in some dodgy 80s pilot with K9, apparently), but I've just been through all of her Tom Baker run and she was the best companion hands down. So very brunette.

Fuck me did she preserve well.

RTD established into canon (via Sarah Jane Adventures) that The Doc can regenerate hundreds of times, so they won't go that route. This seemed to be about him being killed before he could regenerate (but even in that case we've seen, with The Master, that this doesn't neccessarily mean the end of a Time Lord)

But above all that, yes, the Big British Castle isn't going to kill a show that takes in millions of revenue.

Two things confirmed so far are she isn't a future Amy Pond and she isn't the Doctor's mother..

Something that doesn't make a whole lot of sense at the moment with this is that, if River knows a another (presumbly future) incarnation of the Doctor then clearly the Doctor will have another incarnation - so he's not dead. Otherwise it's paradox time.

The Silents(?creatures) make Amy forget, and River takes the blame, gets locked in Stormcage... Temporarily!

Roll on the end of this series to resurrect the Doctor.

It was good. A bit hectic but I guess that's the nature of the game nowadays.

The ending had me VERY intrigued and then cut to a bad spoof of Pirates of the Caribbean. They need to get back to that girl(Doctor's Daughter? Amy's Daughter? Jenny?) and find out what's what.

That episode seemed to leave far too many threads hanging for my liking, but I assume that it's for good reason and not just because.

So...
The girlcan regenerate, so one can assume she has something Gallifreyan about her.
Amy is perhaps the mother of the girl, but was made to forget. That the Doctor's scanner said she was both pregnant and not-pregnant, must mean that it's hanging in the balance of some event about to happen.
The Silence - were they responsible for anything other than advancing humankind to the point of the space race? Where did they get that funky Tardis-like tech from? Why were they trying to put the girl in a robot body? Are The Silence just working for someone else? (yes)
Eye Patch Lady I assume is part of a larger plot.
I'm slightly confused now by River Song's timeline. That was their last kiss? Does that mean she now goes off to meet the Tenth Doctor and die?

That was Rivers last kiss with the Doctor because it was his first (the Doctors last kiss with River will be her first), the next time she'll see the doctor will be the last episode she was in for us.

I missed it too, it's about 18 minutes into the episode. She's got a futuristic metal eye patch, she peers into the hallway, looks at Amy and says to someone else: "No, I think she's just dreaming", this is immediately after the other guy has just told Canton: "The Child, she must be cared for... that's what they said".
