here's an interesting question. olivia was blonde, altivia was red-headed. then they both dyed their hair to look like the other. so does that mean they had different natural hair colors? or, was one of them already dying to begin with?

well, there's only one way to find out...

I think they have been doing a pretty decent job this season of juggling going back and forth between dimensions, though I don't see how bad Olivia can overcome executing that deaf guy when it comes to gaining our sympathies, despite the hints that she is starting to have a problem with her conscience. then again, if Darth Vader can get people all mushy and gain become a good guy after killing children and entire worlds just because he decides to save his son in the end i guess there is hope for bad Olivia :-P

I've only ever really watched this fleetingly over the shoulder of the missus, what I've seen of this season has not exactly encouraged me to watch any closer, but perhaps I'm being unfair.

This season has been fantastic. Really getting into their mythology. Everything has really been working on a thematic level as well.

Why fox thought Fringe would work on the most competitive night on tv baffles me. Hopefully if Fringe maintains its audience with the lessened ratings expectations it will survive.

death slot or no death slot, it's an improvement over it's current thursday night suicide slot. the show should've never been moved from tuesday, where it had decent ratings. why take a show that's still getting on its feet and sacrifice it on the one night when every single extremely popular show is also aired? because tv executives are dumb, i guess. at least now my dvr can take a bit of a breather on thursday nights, it's been working overtime this year.

the fact that American Idol is the #1 show in the country, shit, even top 10, is sad statement about the poor excuse called American "culture". if it was a castle i would set it on fire, smash it down, and then sink it in a swamp......I would rather have "Superman Returns" play every week in its time slot, and i would watch it every week if that would ensure Idol never flickered across a tv screen again.....

meanwhile back at the ranch.......this last episode was pretty damn good and I love the way they ended it, can't wait to see how it plays out

YOU ARE 99% SURE THAT CHICK YOU JUST NAILED IS FAUXLIVIA AND WAITING TO KILL YOU AND/OR TAKE YOU BACK TO ANOTHER UNIVERSE AND YET YOU CASUALLY RIFLE THROUGH HER LAPTOP WHILE SHE SLEEPS? JESUS MAN, TIE HER UP FIRST, OR TAKE THE LAPPY AND SPLIT WHILE ALSO CALLING THE TEAM AND TELLING THEM TO GO INTO DEFCON 4 LOCKDOWN. AND THAT'S JUST FROM THE PREVIEW OF THE NEXT EPISODE THAT PISSED ME OFF!

Fringe first came to my attention through a fellow fangeek who had become hooked in the first season. Try as I might I could not get through the first 13 episodes. They just dragged on and on and on. I chalked the show up to a lost cause and moved on. In fact I didnt give it a second thought until the beginning of the third season when I had found myself with more time on my hands and had run out of DVDs to watch. I could have watched all six seasons of Lost, but frankly I wasnt ready to dive back into that mindfrak again so instead I reborrowed my friends copies of the first 2 seasons and this time I skipped the first 13 episodes. Thank goodness I did because really didnt begin until that point. Since then Fringe has been appointment viewing in my house.

the writing on this show is really impressive, the way they are weaving the 1 hour stories into a larger complex plot and building tension as they go. what a shame more people don't appreciate it and but spend their time watching brainless shit like American Idol

If they end up cancelling Fringe this season, do you guys who watch the show regularly think they should try and wrap everything up, or just write like it's business as usual? I think about this sometimes and part of me thinks I'd like it better if shows I liked just sort of ended instead of trying to force a conclusion, but a series like this raises a lot of questions and requires a lot of commitment that might be frustrating to ignore.

It depends on how much notice Fox gives the show. Right now, the show could end on Peter's choice of which Universe to save and I would be content.

they should write to end this current story arc at the end of this season, just in case they don't get a season 3, but also leave things with the season 2 finale so that they could go right into a season 3 seamlessly if they get that opportunity. i think they need to resolve the current storyline by the end of this season, even if they already knew for sure they had a season 3 assured. in resolving the main "question" of the season within that season allows a show to stay fresh and gives new viewers a chance to jump on board each season. the introduction of more than just one alternate dimension is something that could really open up new storyline potential, for instance.

This week's episode really annoyed me. I actually thought it was bad along the lines of the giant virus episode.

Walter was horrified that he flipped a coin and got heads 10 times in a row. So what? I suck at math and even I know that's statistically insignificant. What would be statistically significant is if you did it 10,000 times and got heads each time. That would be odd. Still, future flips have no dependence on previous flips, so your chance is always 50/50 per flip.

Also, the universes almost merged because two people who were in love missed each other?! Lame.

Agreed, it was a weaker episode. But I gotta be the one that says weak Fringe is better than no Fringe. Also gotta give them props for the way they're able to blend the cases of the week along w/ the ongoing mythology, something the X-Files should have done.

Next week looks interesting, to say the least.

Am I the only one annoyed w/ how the crew on the other side interracts? It's like they have to beat it down my throat how happy go lucky and oh-so super chummy they are to prove that they're innocent and Walternate is the true threat to everyone. Maybe it's just me . . .

no matter how happy and nice they act on the "other side" it doesn't negate that Olivialternate shot some poor deaf guy in the head just to shut him up, or that she took part in killing an innocent women right before she was captured, she has shown a lack of conscience that our Olivia possesses. Olivialternate has been established as a cold-blooded killer, even if she also has the hots for Peter, too. you know, the way this season is shaping up it almost feels like they are adapting a run of comics into a TV series.
