Did anyone see this... Its an interesting show about a spy thats been kicked out of his agency, and gose to work doing small time freelance stuff.

the best thing is Bruce Campbell is part of the cast... a reason to watch anything!

How regular is his part going to be?

I missed the first episode, but I can probably find it somewhere soon.

I think hes the main character.

Bruce is a side character that gets the main character into his "profession" as a private dick. He's an ex-agent, current-alchie/womanizer.

My fiancee and I watched the premiere episode (gotta tape the new one tonight!), and we both loved it. It's by no means a "deep" show, but it's entertaining to say the least. It's like a new generation MacGuyver. The dude can't make a rickshaw out of dental floss, but he can certainly teach you the best way to take down a drug dealer at his front door. Good stuff, the only complaint I have is the accent on Gabriel Anwar. Irish just isn't her thing.

Jeffrey Donovan plays the main character. He was in the rather silly American version of Touching Evil a few years back.

I caught this earlier. I wasn't too big a fan of the freeze-frame shots... but, I guess that's in again? I mean, I remember it being big in the 80s...

Anywho, other than that, I found it to be enjoyable.

Bruce was cool... but Donovan was cooler...

...did i just say that?

I've seen the first couple of episodes. It's actually pretty good! I wasn't expecting that.

Not deep, but very watchable.

We'll have to see how long the writers can keep up the impression that the hero is an expert at all this stuff. So far, the "inside knowledge" he's been giving us in the voiceovers is interesting, but will it still be so after a full season?

So they have any ex-agents as technical consultants on this show? If they did, would they tell us? If they told us, would they have to kill us?

Questions ...

:)

hehe, although I reckon you probably wouldn't want at least one of those questions answered...

I watched most of the first season episodes and really enjoyed it, and I don't enjoy much series TV. I'll be definitely watching season 2!

Tricia Helfer joins the cast and we can only hope a very skimpy bikini will be ready for her to wear. YOWZA!

This is a fun show. It can be a bit repetitive at times, but the characters save it from ever getting boring. Plus, BRUCE CAMPBELL!!! :)

Anyone catch the premiere? I thought it was good. I didn't expect it to take place immediately after the finale, but that was a bonus. Cool stuff so far.

Tricia Helfer looked AWESOME. Miami suits her well.

8 out of 10, if only for Jeffrey Donovan's British accent.

Tricia Helfer did look awesome. I hope we see more of her. Preferably by a pool. In a bikini. Wet.

You know.. I always get this weird sensation when i watch this show. When I record it to my dvr, it usually sits on there for a week, and when I sit down to watch it, it feels like a chore, then I get 3 minutes into it and i'm all over it like a highschool girl over a football player after 5 beers! Its the weirdest damn thing they way i love this show.

am i the only one who thinks this show is a "Magnum P.I." redux? not a knock on it, because i really enjoy it, it but since Magnum was such a big part of my tv-watching youth, i can vividly remember watching the pilot with my little brother and we thought it was one of the coolest shows we had ever seen at the time, i can't help but notice the similarities while watching this, from the voice-over narration to Cambell's comic relief. the one thing that IS different, that totally works for me, is the relationship with Fiona. i am waiting for the "did you see the sun rise this morning" episode, which i am betting will come this season or next. if they pull that off well then this show becomes a dvd must-buy for me.

You guys nailed it right on the head there.

It really IS Magnum PI. It's not quite as funny as magnum and it has more of a serious edge but the dynamics just about work.

It's missing that something which makes it stand out from the crowd.

he doesn't have a signature car, like the Lamborghini, or a signature body part, like The 'stache, and he doesn't have a Higgins.

The episodes are also becoming predictable. How many times can Michael reluctantly accept a side job?

I think Higgins is more than well replaced by Campbell :)

But you are totally right, all those little Donald P. Bellaisario traits which added a little sparkle to the show. The Helicopter in Airworlf, the catch phrases in Quantum Leap, it's missing that magic at the moment. The only catch phrase we have at the moment is, 'I'll think about it', not great now is it, and he drives a Challenger from time to time. I do like that Sharon Gless plays his mother, that makes me laugh.

And look what I just found

What's the betting that it's going to be 'dark and edgy'?

Hi everybody! I know this is a pretty shameless bump, but I know we have at least a couple of Zoners in here who swear by the show, so I figured I would let them know that "Burn Notice" has been STICKY'D since new episodes are now being released.

I don't think I've ever seen a whole episode, but I do actually hear some pretty good things about it (which is rare for a USA series) and, of course, THE BRUCE! I might have to watch it just because Moon Bloodgood (Best/Most Frightening. Name. EVAR?) is showing up for the next few episodes.

I missed the premire, but have caught the episodes since then, some good stuff, and I'm glad that they are going for more of an overall arch in addition to the side jobs

the Magnum comparison is apt, but I sense more of an A-Team vibe...kinda A-Team meets Mag

I'm liking the new eps. Michaels already in the shit after terminating the agencies involvement. The agency now send all the old adversaries his way so this series is hopefully going to open up into some mayhem soon.

Good call on Stickying Ribbons. Thanks.

I absolutely love this show. I love how Jeffrey Donovan does Martha Stewart-esque voiceovers describing how he does things in the spy business. Kinda like how-tos for bomb making, etc. And of course The Bruce himself. The last episode I caught with whathisname from The Shield was top notch.

I can imagine the voiceovers:

"When driving completely shitfaced, be sure to avoid hitting a cop car at all costs"

"It is a proven fact you can drive while intoxicated......just not very well"

"When caught by police on suspicion of DUI, just look them in the eye, grin, and say you're a spy trying to escape Miami and they'll let you go"

A phone message left with a network spokeswoman was not immediately returned.

See now that's just bad reporting.

So you called the Network, left a message on the answerphone and because they didn't get back to you straight away you print this as news?!?! Did they get back in touch with you, by the statement I'm guessing they did, so why didn't you update it?

I also hate this. We've learned to call multiple times, email and try other means to get in contact with someone (twitter, facebook etc.) before giving up.

That line sounds just as you described it, and I bet that is exactly what happened.

Something like this came up when I was reporting, and I made sure that I reached someone from the PR office I was trying to contact. My editor told me "Someone saying 'no comment' sounds better in print than having to concoct some sort of magical nonsensical statement basically saying you were too lazy to make another phone call."

Pisses me off when I see that too. Makes us look bad.
