STAR WARS TV SHOW (Now w/ White Male Patriarchy)

The greatest TV in history is being made right now. The worst TV in history is being made right now.

burlivesleftnut wrote:Yeah I remember that too, and he does kind of help Vader trap Luke, which is kind of cool. But uhhhhh, didn't ROTJ kind of settle the debate on whether Fett is cool?

yeah, that was an embarrasing...

BUT, in the world of psychotic STAR WARS fandom, the prevailing opinion is that Boba Fett escaped at the last second... of course!

(how much you wanna bet in the Ultimate Edition, that this is digitally inserted?)

btw, side note, i know everybody says "Greedo shot first" is the lamest edition to ANH, but i would argue that it's Boba Fett's 4th wall breaking entrance that is the lamest. not just because he's there, but that he stands there, turns around, and looks at the screen for an embarrasingly long amount of time...

suspension of disbelief SHATTERED!

I used to and still love Boba Fett. Lay off him. Slagging him off is like saying Candyman 3 times. In fact I was so scared about the dude that whilst talking about him in Newquay where we all went to pull chicks, I coincidentally(?) saw on the back of a van 'Boba Fett' written into the dirt on it. I hung about for ages trying to work it, out a la Close Encounters Devil's Mountain thing, until members of the actual band 'Boba Fett' came out and explained to me that it was them!!!!

Shows how cool the Fett is.

The best SW TV show I reckon should be The Discovery of the Force or the Jedi Sith Wars. Set thousands of years before TPM and even including Yoda, ancient Jedi times. How the force was discovered and harnessed, the depth an philosophy behind it all, the coming of the Jedi and Sith, and ultimately the big kick off wars and endless lightsabre battles, and showdowning in the big kick off duel between an ultimate badass Jedi vs an ultimate evil badass Sith warrior. It would finally give us the ultimate badass lightsabre duel that Obi Wan vs Anakin was meant to be.

Yeah, see, there isn't even a debate anymore about the time period for the live action show. It DEFINITELY takes place in the 20-year gap between Episodes III and IV. Much as I'd love to see a Jedi series, it ain't happening unelss we follow some soon-to-be-dead ones around the galaxy.

If this is the time period and it's a "lesser" character the fans have responded to favorably, all signs point to Boba Fett for me. These are the dude's formative years. There's a story there.

It has been talked about. They consider this a movie worthy story also.

Mind you, I love the ideas everyone has been coming up with here. A wealth of imagination. I like the Hulk Jedi story too.

Heh man, I reckon you're working on the SW TV series aren't you? Come on, my wife wants you, come clean and tell us.

Sheet, you've got me thinking about this all day. You must have had some kind of college experience to get this job. Are you from NZ too?

Today I am thinking about going to do some kind of course that I could take into films. Computers or Art or something. Sheesh.

Fett's a badass, but I'm not sure he can carry a series.

No matter which aspect of the SW universe the series focuses on, some people will be disappointed. I'm not certain whether it's intended to have the scope of the movies (i.e. the political machinations on a galactic scale), though it seems to me that the founding of the Rebellion would be an obvious source of material for a good series, though the small band against the giant, overpowering war machine concept is already happening in sci-fi tv right now (BSG).

Whatever the focus is, we need (at least) a 3 episode arc focusing on Mara Jade. And Whedon needs to write it.

the thing about fett now, is the last we see of boba is in ep2, when he's holding his dad's helmet... and then we see him in anh, posing for the camera. i guess if you were to watch them in sequence now, THAT reveal would make you go, "oooh!"

it is really stupid. he was nothing to begin with, so his death in rotj was just a bunch of fanboys going, "oh that sucks" but now, Lucas has gone back and given him this HUGE backstory so now when he goes out, it's a major letdown in terms of a story arc.

That's why I like the idea of him breaking out of the Sarlacc Pit, makes him so bad that he fought all the way back from Hell itself because he wasn't ready to die yet.

i'll bet that if the star wars tv series IS about boba fett, it'll show how he's really scared of sarlac pitts. like it'll be a running thing. "oh man, why does it always have to be SARLAC PITTS!"

so when we watch jedi, we can go, "oh, that's poetic!"

Did anyone absolutely HATE his added scene in ROTJ where he's hanging with chicks in Jabba's palace, and tocuhing their chin like some suave cool ladies man.

That just ain't Boba! That's NOT his character!

But he has a mask on. You can't tell if he's looking at the lens or elsewhere. I actually liked his little moment there, just touching on him slightly.

Only thing though, do you think Lucas shot him in the '70s or was he a digital add-in for the Special Edition? Much as I hope the former, methinks it's the latter.

The series should focus on Jek Porkins, unsung hero of the rebellion. We know his tragic end, but what brought him to that point in his life.

We will remember you Red Six.

I always imagined that right before the shot of him in the cockpit that leads to his X-Wing going down, Porkins had a sandwich going, and he put it down to concentrate on the final approach.

But it was his love for the sandwich that was his undoing. He had one eye on it the whole time.

because the merchandising and licensing are so out of control with star wars, and in an effort to tame it down for the kiddies, i understand that when lucas was re-editing the O.T. in addition to greedo shooting first, he also changed Jek Porkins's grand egress. he digitally inserted a giant sandwich into porkins's hand, and a giant cup of pepsi sitting on the controls. and in the heat of battle, porkins knocks his pepsi over, it spills into the controls, causing his xwing to explode, and porkins to die. apparently, pepsi co was not comfortable with their product being associated with death, themes of rebellion, or morbid obesity, as in the case of jek porkins. what i wouldnt give to pillage the garbage cans at the skywalker ranch, just to have that lost footage.
