Brian K Vaughan's SMOKERS

Brian K Vaughan and Sam Raimi are developing a new television show called SMOKERS at FOX (which of course means it will be amazing, stuck in the Friday night death slot, and then unceremoniously cancelled).

The premise?

Deadline reports that the hour-long high-concept drama, Smokers, centers on a documentary crew that follows “working-class heroes who exterminate alien threats in deep space.” That, unfortunately, is all the information that’s available.

Does that sound cool? Yeah, it really does.

For those not in the know, Brian K Vaughan (also known as BKV) is the man responsible for the following:

Ex Machina
Y: The Last Man
Runaways
Pride of Baghdad
and 3 seasons of LOST.

He also wrote the script for a high concept comedy film that MasterWhedon told me was incredible.

Get in early, because being based at FOX means that this likely will not lost long...if it even happens at all.

Briscoe County Firefly?

Why is FOX even fucking around with such an expensive-sounding epic project like this?!?
Hope it works out, but color me extremely skeptical.
