The Role They Were a Born a To Play!

Postby DinoDeLaurentiis on Tue Dec 13, 2005 10:08 am

So the Dino, he got a to thinking about a this a when I was a reading the "It's a not acting" a thread, eh?

We've alla seen them... those actors who somehow, through skill, personal experience, talented writers, or a the divine intervention, they "click" with a the role, anna you realize that a they must have a been put onna this earth to play a that one part!

Offa the top of a my head:
Jack Nicholson - Murphy
Alan Rickman - Snape
Faye Dunaway - Joan Crawford
Robert Shaw - Quint
Robert DeNiro - LaMotta
Ian McKellan - Gandalf
Sigourney Weaver - Ripley
Vivien Leigh - Scarlet O'Hara
Patrick Stewart - Xavier
Harrison Ford - Indiana Jones
Bela Lugosi - Dracula

What do alla you putzes think? Name a some offa you head, eh?

Too right she would. Even though her sexuality was questionable when she came into the pop world at the same time as Boy George. I couldn't work out which sex was which. No wonder I had a hard time with my coming of age with girls at this time.

Even though any actor in the world could act the part of David Hasslehoff better than David Hasslehoff, I still think he's the best choice for it. I dunno, despite David Hasslehoff's lack of talent, I just think he's somehow more ideal to play David Hasslehoff.

If anyone disagrees, they can...

Al Pacino was born to play Michael Corleone
Luke Hamil was born to play Luke Skywalker
Carrie Fisher was born to play Princess Leia
Felicty Kendal (uuurrrg) was born to play Barbara Good
Sylvester Stallone was born to play Rocky Balboa
Arnie was born to play governor
Joh Travolta was born to play Vincent Vega

To me most actors in film make the role their own in their own way, and its hard for to imagine anybody else performing in that role. Although, I don't think Johnny Depp was born to play Hunter. S . Thompson.

I do think this is a better call than Hunter Thompson (though I find his work in the latter role to be brilliant), but I am torn between Jack Sparrow, Edward Scissorhands, and Ed Wood. He was just so perfect in those last two that it's hard to figure out what role JD was born to play.

Jason Scott Lee - Bruce Lee
Dustin Hoffman - Lenny Bruce
Dennis Hopper - Frank Booth
Jim Henderson - Kermit the Frog (does this count)?

'Tis a tricky one with Johnny, but I gotta got with Sparrow over Wood, just. Ahh, Glen or Glenda?
