I Know Your Face...

Discuss all the finest actors, living or dead -- their films, their talents, and their weird, drug-related escapades.

So my sleeping is well and truly out of Whack now and I find myself watching more and more reruns on FTN, FX, ABC and so forth (Is that REALLY how Katey Sagal looks now? Not bad - but how about ONE simple rule - Don't watch this show)

Something like 4am this morning I watched Hill St Blues. And there, playing a Little Italy hood was a very young Chazz Palminteri. Was only on the show for about three minutes and outshone most of the regular cast (including an equally young Dennis Franz, who effectively plays Andy Sipowicz....and Joe Spano, who just looks exactly the same back then as he does today, apart from some colour in his hair).

.....and if you are a fan of Dennis Franz, let us celebrate his hilarious turn in Die Hard 2 as begrizzled Airport Chief of Police.....a film which also boasts a largely anonymous performance from Robert "Have You Seen This Child" Patrick as Hood #8 or something....and whose main bad guy was none other than a buffed up, "man with no tan", DEATH from Bill & Ted's second outing - AKA William Sanderson.

ok, i'm watching "Altered States" on AMC right now (cool flick, imo), and just noticed a very young John Laroquette (from Night Court) playing an x-ray lab tech in a 2-line bit role.

I don't know if anyone remembers but its a hard one to spot.

In between all the sex scenes in Basic Instinct, Michael Douglas had a part.

Remember in Mumbleface's very own Hanover Street where Harrison Ford himself romances Lesley Anne Down?

Remember her baby daughter, who must be no more than 9 odd?

That's Patsy Kensit!!!

Now on TV looking pretty hotdamn good in a black low cut teddy of some kind.

Teddy. I hate that name for underwear. I had a girlfriend who wore a teddy.

It rattled my Cagle a little.

I always thought that was Patsy Kensit, Kirk! There was no missing those teeth...

I was watching Pretty Woman tonight. Hank Azaria makes a brief appearence as the detective investigating the death of "Skinny Marie." He hasn't aged a bit, he's like Dorian Gray.

No, it's at the very beginning of the film, when Julia Roberts is trying to find her roommate. She passes a bunch of cops, who found one of her fellow hookers in a dumpster. Hank Azaria is asking some guy if he knew her, etc. And this older couple starts taking pictures and he says "What, are you guys from the press?" "No, Orlando!" "Oh, Jesus, I got tourists taking photos of the body!"

And that's it. It's kind of funny, really. Now Hank Azaria has more of a career than Richard Gere.

Ribisi's character wears a Vandals t-shirt and has a Vandals poster on his wall. Chris Carter is friends with the Vandals, and they play a song from Live Fast, Diarrea.. That was a good episode.

Their is a very dumpy looking Eliza Dushku in True Lies. Dreyfuss's daughter in 'What About Bob' plays Vincent Dinofrio's partner on Law and Order: Criminal Intent..

Catherine Keener was in an episode of Seinfeld, she played Jerry's girlfriend and paints the infamous Kramer picture.

I just saw the sucktastic Freddy vs Jason and noticed someone in the background in one scene.

Image
Aint that Evangeline Lilly?

It's about 00:28:10 into the movie.
If you happen to be one of the poor suckers that owns this movie (unless you're like me and really like Katherine Isabelle, then you're OK in my book!), you can see for yourself.

And I also thought I saw a young Tobias Beecher (OZ) in the first episode of Wild Palms, playing a waiter. I'll have to take a screenshot of that.

Michael Imperioli, who's playing Christopher Moltisanti in The Sopranos, in the movie Goodfellas. I would guess that most of you know that he is in it considering that he has a couple of lines and upsets Joe Pesci's character. But what I find kinda funny is that Christoper in Sopranos always talks about Goodfellas in the first 2 seasons when he is playing in it as well.

Image
Tony Sirico, Paulie in Sopranos, also in Goodfellas. You see him in the background from time to time.

Image
And lastly I have Hurley (Jorge Garcia) from Lost. He is playing a drug dealer in Curb Your Enthusiasm. Fourth season episode 6.

But then again it's no wonder you picked those guys over such lovely ladies like Evangeline Lilly...

I hadn't been aware of Daniel Dae Kim before LOST (I think he's one of the best on that show too).

In the last two weeks alone, I've noticed him in his significant role in Angel, also in ALIAS.....and last night, who should that "aide" be in The Hulk.....no other than the man himself.

And yes, retrospectively recognising people does count. My thread, my rules..... :P

OK - so even Ray Charles from beyond the grave can spot a Stan Lee cameo.....but in X3 I didn't realise that was Chris Claremont with the lawnmower in the first scene!

and the unseen Gunnery Sergeant handing out the plastic guns? I thought it might have been Military Adviser to the Stars, Dale Dye himself - but no, even better - it was the disembodied voice of R Lee Ermey!!

....and not that all I seem to watch at the moment is comic book stuff - but there's a tiny role - one of three men billed as "soldier" - for SCRUBS' Johnny Kastl (Doug, the inept one AKA "Nervous Guy"). I think I found him as well - I think he's the soldier at the end, where Nolte goes electric, that says something along the lines of "There's no more power General".

I really, REALLY need to get out a bit more often.......

A young Peter Sarsgaard plays none other than John Malkovich's son in "The Man in the Iron Mask."

Here I was waiting for them to pair up as a father-son duo and they'd already done it...

Oh well, they need to do it again. And play it creepy this time!

I popped in Zoolander the other day, and it turns out that a very young Alexander Skarsgard was one of Zoolander's male model roommates (the dude with the blond hair, specifically). Kind of interesting since the only thing I know him from is Generation Kill and that's a far different role.

Nic Cage is also an extra in Fast Times At Ridgemont High. He's in a couple of scenes at the mall if I remember correctly.

Paul Giamanti also stands around silently as one of Woody Allen's admirers at the end of Deconstructing H@rry.

I was shocked to see Viggo Mortensen in Young Guns 2 the other day. He looks older than he does now in it, strangely enough. And Grissom from CSI plays Pat Garret.
...and so forth.

Yeah, I saw Witness for the first time a week ago, where Viggo plays an Amish dude, and he looked kinda chubby and old. The man's definitely getting better looking as he gets older.

Adrian Pazdar was in Carlito's Way... he goes on 'the boat' with Charlie and Kleinfeld - and ultimately gets bonked with a crowbar (i think).

One for Stargate / Farscape viewers - near the start of 'Memphis Belle'... Matty Modine's character is at the dance before the big mission, boring the pants off a young airman at the bar, the young flyer is a VERY young and quite chubby Browder.

I didn't realize that Elijah Wood played Huck Finn in THE ADVENTURES OF HUCK FINN a few years ago. What's funny, he looks much more like what I pictured Frodo Baggins as when I first read LOTR than what we saw in the films.

Isn't "T-Bag" one of his deputies in this one?
