Thought of this while in a different post. Kinda of a whatever happened too, what were you thinking... ect?

John Travolta - Battle Field Earth, Be Cool
Rick Moranis - Did he die or something? He used to be a comic go to in the 80's.
Chevy Chase - Last 15 years...

The agent who hires actresses right after they win an Oscar and puts them in superhero/action movies should be shot.

Look what he/she did to Angelina Jolie (Girl, Interrupted/Tomb Raider), Halle Berry (Monster's Ball/Catwoman) and Charlize Theron (Monster/Aeon Flux)

What about Foxx in Stealth right after Ray?

Of course Travolta's agent wasn't the reason he did Battlefield Earth his "faith" was the reason..

Jeff Bridges. The guy's one of the greatest American actors and he's consistently trapped in fussy prestige pictures that usually suck.

Jeff Bridges is every Casting Director's favourite second choice for leading man roles.

Sorry Vegata. Not only did my Steve Martin inspire you to start this thread without me knowing it, but Steve Martin landed back in here again after you started it.

He's come full circle, he's such an obvious name for you subject. Now I feel completely unoriginal in coming up with any other actor that needs to sack their agent.

PS. Sorry about what I said back to you in the EFBR. I take it you knew it was a joke, but with all my jokes today being taken the wrong way by people (ie celebrity prank calls annoying my friends all day instead of making them laugh), I'm left feeling paranoid about what people think of me.

PPS. Doh, only after typing this post, did I read 'well, you gave me the idea' from you. Even my apology is our of place!!

Bluebottle tried to copy and take the piss out of my Sig pic. I've been feelign paranoid all day.

John Travolta and Battlefield Earth is full of irony. It was based on the novel that Phillp K Dick write - who is the inventor of Scientology, which is all about making a success of your life. Now seeing as both stars are members of this Church, you would have thought that this film would be a total example of how Scientology works.

But seeing as it was one of the biggest Box Office and critical disasters ever, and has made JT's career go downhill ever since...... well you do the math.

Actually I think Travolta needs to thank his agent, I'm guessing he's pretty much the only reason the guy was able to maintain a career long enough for Tarantino to come in and save him, and he's probably the only thing keeping Travolta away from the Cruise like antics we saw this year after Cruise fired his agent in favor of his sister (and I'm guessing Battlefield Earth happened in spite of Travolta's agent rather than because of).

Yeah. I've been having a headache all day. I knew it weren't K Dick 'cos he's dead, but said so anyway, so that someone like yourself could correct me.

Plus it brought the debacle of John Travolta more attention too.

I noticed he seemed to have fired his agent that wrote a clause into every of his films, that he had to dance really badly at least once in every of them.

Frankly, it's easier to mistake LRH for PKD than one would think. Both men's early pulp sci-fi stuff is very similar.

Chris O'Donnell fits with thomasgaffney's "superhero" observation. The guy goes from Golden Globe nominee (Scent of a Woman) to...ROBIN.

And from there to...what was that show that lasted about three weeks? My point exactly.

(*shudder*)...Robin, indeed.

i really think elisha cuthbert should fire her agent cause he won't even let me get the script to my latest opus to her (and by opus i mean an epic re-telling of Porky's set in the 1980's where she plays every single female in the movie - even the nasty gym coach in the shower... she would also play every single male character in the movie...) aw hell... it was just gonna be me and a camera... i already had a hole cut into the shower wall...
