"I'm not a pervert" from Jingle all the way.

"Milk is for babies. When you grow up you drink beer." from Pumping Iron

So many Arnie moments....not enough time.....

One that always stuck in my head was right at the end of True Lies, when he begins a game of "Thumbsies" with his onscreen daughter. Suddenly he just becomes this big honking, guffawing Ox - and look at his face - you just know that that game of thumbsies is on....for real.....

I quite like the moment where he comes out of the Dumbledore bar in T3.

You get a nice close up like in 1, then he tries on the Elton glasses.

Hey Lugz :D

Maybe also his first kill in Commando, where the bad guy says something like "so now we talk, right?" when he realises his daughter has been kidnapped.

His answer?

"Wrong".

Well my actor mate, who got me started in all this Aarrhnee laaarrhhk, told me that he saw this really stupid funny scene in Raw Dyeayel, that is an epitome to how bad and stupidly unfunny Ahhneee reeallee ees, where he does something with an object or other, and I dunno, makes it dissapear or do something magical with it, and then hits with a real supid sounding line that goes...

"Maaahhjeek? Oaarr, Maaahhgneet?"

My mate was pissing himself laughing at how bad the scene was, to be actually funny.

I haven't seen it, but it sounds just so awful as to be a must see scene? Anyone know about it, that could enlighten me more?

Loved the hommage to John Wayne in Conan the Barbarian, when Conan belts that horse in the feed bag & puts him on the ground.

Also works as an hommage to Mongo in Blazing Saddles, which was in turn an hommage to The Duke....

Sorry, I got distracted staring at Eliza Dushku.

(just catching up on this thread)

There's no way in hell that the Arnie from the 80s would have let a prop tree trunk get put on his shoulder. that was 100% pure fucking tree baby.
the stories they tell from the filming of predator are hilarious (get the "special edition" dvd, its worth it). all the macho competition between arnie and Jesse and Carl Weathers. that must have been like a fucking frat party...

here's my favorite Goofy Arnold moment: when he's being crucified on the Tree of Woe in Conan, and there's a fucking vulture picking at an open wound on his shoulder, and suddenly Conan kills the vulture with his teeth! Godddamn brilliant movie.

favorite non-goofy Arnold moment: still Conan (a movie couldn't EVAR be better suited for an actor than this) when he says a prayer to Crom right before the climactic battle, and he tells Crom that if He doesn't help, "den to Hell wit you!"

It's not so much Arhnie's lines like,

"Kwoowool Paahrtee!" or "OK evreebahdee - Chyeel!" it's his underplayed slight emotional deliveries, his subtle nuances of "Ngyaaraagh!! Ngyahahaaah! Aargh! Ngyarngh!! in all his action scenes.

Kirk, you can translate this into your Arnie-speak, if you like, but I always laugh at the image of this quote.

The real quotes are sometimes better than the film ones...

"As long as I live, I will never forget that day 21 years ago when I raised my hand and took the oath of citizenship. Do you know how proud I was? I was so proud that I walked around with an American flag around my shoulders all day long."

"I have a love interest in every one of my films - a gun."

"I just use my muscles as a conversation piece, like someone walking a cheetah down 42nd Street. "

"I saw a woman wearing a sweatshirt with Guess on it. I said, Thyroid problem? "

"I think that g@y marriage should be between a man and a woman."

"It's the most difficult [decision] I've made in my entire life, except the one I made in 1978 when I decided to get a bikini wax."

"Money doesn't make you happy. I now have $50 million but I was just as happy when I had $48 million. "

"People are always making a fuss over my $15-20-million salaries. Believe me, the amount is meaningless once my wife, Maria, finds out about it. She's already spent half of my salary from Terminator 7! "

"The best activities for your health are pumping and humping."

"To those critics who are so pessimistic about our economy, I say, Don't be economic girlie men! "

and probably my favorite:

"My friend James Cameron and I made three films together - True Lies, The Terminator and Terminator 2. Of course, that was during his early, low-budget, art-house period."

And as much as I like to poke fun at the guy, he does have some good ideas on education and trying to stop obesity in today's youth, which is the # 1 health concern in America right now.

Here are two quotes I agree with:

"You can't tell a kid that it's time to exercise; that's a turn-off...you have to say 'Let's go to the park and have some fun.' Then you get them to do some running, play on the swings, practice on the balance beam, basically get a full workout disguised as play."

"You know, nothing is more important than education, because nowhere are our stakes higher; our future depends on the quality of education of our children today."

Those lines are great man. Dunn if he was trying to be funny or not, or just plain stoopid, you cna't tell with the guy.

Can anyone verufy this for me? According ot my mate, there's a commentary version for a film that Arnie did for Tri Star, and the bit where the Tri Star logo comes up, with that Pegasus winged white horse coming from the distance to jump right through that triangle thing and sort of right at the screen at us? Well it's got this really shit Arnie voice over trying to be funny and as the horse is approaching, Arnie's saying like...

"Oooaakaay, keeep waaatchyeeng, heeeyerre ahh caarm!! Aaarhhm caaarmeeeng aart yooo, loook ooowtt, heeeyeerr aaah aaaahhhm" ANd when the Pegasus jumps right at us, he goes, "AAANNDD AAAAHHMM HEEEYYEEEEEEREEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!"

My mate was pissing himself laughing at it, as it was Arnie so badly and chidishly trying to be funny, but it was so abad and unfunny that it actually WAS funny, but for all the wrong reasons!!!!

Now, everytime I watch a Tri Star film and see that logo I piss myself laughing. I can't wait to watch a Tri Star film with a girl, so I can do that and when she asks me what I'm laughing at and I tell her, she'll laugh and think I'm a Sex God - and then I'LL RIP OFF EHR CLOTHES AND TAKE HERE THERE AND THE....!!

Oh, oh sorry, I got carried away there. Oh, oh, can someone grab me a chair for a moment?
