Seriously, the muppets they used in Farscape always kept me at arms length from the show...mores the pity.
It would have sunk LOTRs.

And I am a fan of Henson and all the good work he has done - but not in this case. Muppets are NOT reality based SFX.

Henson died in 1990, He didn't have much of a hand in Farscape.

And they weren't Muppets. I didn't see Gonzo or Kermit anywhere.

I think they mean Jim Henson, the man himself, didn't have much to do with it.

The Jim Henson Company lived on after him.

I agree on Hitchcock. That type of writing isn't something you see often anymore. I'd even love to see someone new who writes with that same style today. I know someone who writes really great stuff that is very reminiscent of Hitchcock and always hope his stuff goes somewhere so I can see it on the big screen. It would be a good thing, as long as some dumb as director doesn't go and fuckitup.

Not so much a director but.... how about if Rod Serling were still writing screenplays?

I thought he was reincarnated as M. Night Shyamalan.

No?

But Shyamalan is already a muppet...

Oh, and Fievel, you deserve to be banished to The Twilight Zone for even suggesting Night is on the same level as Serling. And not one of those fun, quirky Twilight Zone's either. One of the bad ones!

I'll second the vote for Russ Meyer.

I loved DOA: Dead Or Alive, but to imagine that movie in Meyer's hands is a dream beyond belief.

On a side note, I am greatly looking forward to the movie called Bitch Slap.

I'd love to see a new Mizoguchi. The guy was a huge factor in early Japanese film with Kurosawa, Ozu, and Naruse. Hell any one of them would be crazy to have filmmaking today.

Any one see Split this weekend and think that maybe this will get M Night Shamalyan back on the map of better-than-average directors?

I see its gotten good reviews, and HBO was playing some of his other movies on non-stop rotation this weekend. I'm curious about Split, but definetly won't see it in theater.

P.S. I watched The Visit over the weekend....meh x10. That fucking mom who left her kids in that situation...talk about some bad parenting.
