I'm so glad to hear that this show is so well loved. I was fortunate to not even hear about it until I got the entire first season... I watched it all the way through! Season 2 ep one is my current favourite. The blank clones.... I nearly wet my pants.

Fuck yes.

Viva Los Muertos! was my favorite ep for the season, for so many reasons.

Damnit, I gotta move this up in my Zip.ca queue. They didn't even have it in stock until I requested it after getting jazzed from this thread. The Zone gets credit for that one!

And that's some pretty sweet craftin' there, Garbage Man. Just gonna display it on a wall? or do you have loftier plans for it?

Thanks, Raul. It's actually a spoon rest, since my roommates and I have been bitching about having nowhere to put spoons/tongs/etc. while cooking. I was planning to buy one the other day when I realized, fuck that, I'm teh poor, hell if I'm going to pay good money for some lameass piece of ceramic shaped like a kitten when I could just make one with a few hours' work.

Anyway, what does everyone think of the season 2 artwork?
I was a little surprised at first, expecting something simpler and more in line with the season 1 set, but the more I see this one the more I love it. Great homage to The Hardy Boys and other teen pulp novels that were obviously a big influence on the show.

Too right, and don't forget the last two years' gifts:

"Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy"

"Hard Candy Christmas"

I doubt it, and if my roommates decide to put it to the test they're going to find out if their knees are lead-pipe safe.

Hahaha! thanks KC and TGM for these links - the Monarch's 'Hard Candy Xmas' with his henchmen is my favorite, but I'm gonna get that Bowie/Crosby video and sync the Little Drummer Boy up. These tracks will likely get a spin at a small fucked up hous party in London tonight

cheers

I've been wanting to talk about season 2 for awhile now. It is in my opinion that venture bros. is pure genius. Where as I thought the first season was great, the second season blew me out of the water. It was beyond my expectations. The creators got rid of some of the things that weren't so good about the show the first season and added more of everything we loved. I purely love the thing that is Venture Bros. It makes my life happy.

So......why doesn't Adult Swim hype this show more? Frankly, I think its the smartest, funniest thing they've had on. Perhaps I'm answering my own question.

Season Two is so mine in two days, and I NEVER buy DVD's. EVER, except Season 1 and as I already mentioned a sentence ago, Season two. It's an emphasis thing.

In short -- because it's not currently in their rotation. Adult Swim's website says it's not airing again until April 30th. A new season's worth of episodes is expected late 2007.

I'd much rather see endless reruns of "Venture Brothers" than "Family Guy," I can tell ya that. But hey, what can ya do.

At least with Family Guy, you get new episodes. Fkn do we seriously need TWO Futuramas a night? There will NEVER be a new episode, ever. (Despite the rumors of a new Futurama movie) You can't drop ONE to slip VB in? Sheesh, I think Adult Swim tries to be a little TOO hip.

Erm... the voice actors began recording new Futurama episodes last summer and the animators have been working since then. These things take time.

I do agree with the overall sentiment, though - [as] should be supporting The Venture Bros. a helluva lot more than they are considering it's one of their best shows, if not THE very best. I think it's just a numbers game, though; there are 72 episodes of Futurama available as opposed to Venture's 27.

No more Futurama??? ... even though there's no thread on it (maybe I'll go make one) the movie is on the way, as well as more eps!

I didn't see the Futurama post, nice going. I concur, more VB and Korgoth please. And if there's 72 episodes, is AS comiitted to showing more than say 8? It seems like I always see the same episode.

loving the focus on the past...that G.I. Joe vs. Cobra parody commercial for the O.S.I. was a fucking hoot.

My favorite episode is still the very first episode from season one. I saw that on one night, late. And I didn't know what episode it was, after I got the DVD sets, I was actually a little disappointed that no episode topped that first one.

That said, I love this show and can't wait for the next season.
